I see your point. Not sure if it will affect performance, I doubt it though.

But what you are saying, is that due to the piggybacks, there are no space on the other side. This sounds weird. Shouldn't you be able to run an 8 shock setup, if you wanted to then?

I agree, it is weird, but I have yet to see a picture of anyone running 8 shocks with these piggybacks on a Maxx with knucklehead, or even EXT, towers. Only pictures I've found with 8 of these installed is on trucks with VBS, and of course that works because VBS centers the body posts, and does not use retainers for the posts.

I have not tried it yet, but I think the only way I could even come close to mounting the shocks on the outsides the way I have the towers oriented right now, would be to use screws that are only long enough to just barely thread into the body post retainer, no further, and then not use lock nuts on them anymore. But I like the added security of the lock nut on the other side of the retainer, as there are very few threads in those things, and I feel the screw could pull out of them pretty easily without a lock nut.
