Been in hiding for a long time but this was just the thing to bring me back! Looks like after years off of racing I've got a reason to go back! Can't wait for these to be released! My only wish is for lower kv options say ~1800 in the 1406/1410 for some 4s 4wdsc action.

Shhhh!!! This is not official and I might get fired for it. ;)

OMG! Now that's a beautiful thing! 1415 2400kv on 4s sounds like a ground pounder for sure! Thanks for the sneak peaks Patrick! Now I just need to get to the track more so I'll be ready when these hit the stores!

nitrostarter 10.26.2016 06:00 PM

O man that 1415 is going to crush it!

Patrick, have you seen these in action? curious on the low speed control here.

Pdelcast 10.27.2016 02:39 PM

OK, so the way I hear it, the 1406 series and 1515/1512 series will be the first to be released.

1415/1410 will follow a couple months behind.

That's the official word from the engineer behind these magnificent creations!

Pdelcast 10.27.2016 02:42 PM

And I'm gonna get in trouble for leaking this.... but I don't care.

:diablo:

Can you sneak me a test model of the 1415-2400??

So glad to see these coming out!

Sounds like you need to make a presidential decision :lol:

Just make sure that engineer makes it like you designed the Neucastle motors that we are still addicted to except sensored lol. Right?

nitrostarter 10.29.2016 12:53 PM

Looks like Hemistorm got a good preview

I only volunteered a couple ideas.

These motors were designed by our resident racer/mechanical engineer.

Check out the rotor and sensor assembly.

It's unique in RC.

And very very consistent timing because of the design.

It's very cool tech. I wish I could take some credit for it.

Umm... Not Quite...

The Hobbywing 1/8th scale XERUN G2 rotors also have separate magnets at the back of the rotor to assure accurate timing. Pic on their web site shows that. Though they don't discuss details, a 4 segment ring is clearly visible at the back of, and separated from, the main rotor magnets. It is not clear from the pic whether they also have a flux shield between the magnets for the sensors and the main magnets.

I was kind of wondering who came up with the idea first, Castle or HobbyWing, since they are both being released so close together (though one can already buy the HobbyWing). Their pic was on their web site before your info was publicized here.
