I dig them totally fat tires you got in back.
It is looking pretty good. The pics are not real clear but can see them. Nice job. The lips on the motors are easy to over look. |
holy $hit lots of batterys! that should fly, what does it weigh in at now?
|
Looks like it all came together well. Also, your camera sucks ;). Did the left side battery plate make it under the bottom part of the belt? It looks totally sick tho. Can you get a pic with the motor mount on the chassis?
Keep us updated. -Joe |
belt clearance is about 6mm, just about perfect.
i have to file down one of the car's braces to fit the motor mount in. no structural loss or anything like that. it's just un-needed material. once I get it assembled, I'll take it to work to have our camera guy take a few shots. |
cant wait for those shots:004: Its really coming along great:018:

Cool!
who machined those parts? And was it machined from SW files? any idea what cad/cam was used? |
thanks, Joe (crazy phantom) helped me get the parts made, I just sent him the SW files, and the $, he took care of the rest for me.
|
does anyone know where to get the software to make 3-d objects, (parts). do you have to buy a disk or can i get it of the internet?
|
Search :p...Here ya go...

Nick used Solidworks 2006 Professional(also what I use) which is like a 2500$ program. But e-machineshop is definately a cheap alternative, but I dont know if the CNC mill program will read a EMS file?
|
No, a CNC can use the ems files. and the DXF files emachine shop creates are crippled, a 2d design is made from different height of layers. so from the front they seem closed, which they are not..
What software do you use to translate the sw files to cam/g-code? And do you save the SW file as a step/iges first? |
I dont know which program my machinest uses, but I send the files to him as .iges files.
Are you intrested in getting something machined? |
no but it would be nice to know how to desinge things if i needed something, i tryed and fiddled with the program squee linked me, man even making something simple needs alot of work to be put in. tryed to make a shock tower. FAILED:D
|
It's not really that hard. I thought it was like Latin 2 days ago, and now I just finished a motor mount...
