alright! alright! i wont use em! maybe i could screw around with them and charge it on a nimh. See if it blows, and get a nice vid of it too. Of course i'll be safe!

It you're life, do as you please. All i was trying to do with the banter earlier was to keep other people and property safe. Like Squee said earlier you are going to do what you want, I was just trying to help you see the potential in your actions. With talk like that, you don't need Lipo/mn.

I'm tired of trying, this is my last post. Some people just don't need to play with fire.

See why I said what I said :p.

Well, as crazyjr said before, at least we did our civic duty by warning of the risks. If the person continues to pursue unsafe practices, at least they have been warned and can blame no one but themselves if/when something bad happens. Plus, maybe some nameless person was planning the same thing and the warnings helped them. Who knows.

nbcaz: I sincerely hope you do take the proper precautions if you decide to mess around with a bad pack. At least do it outside so the risk is only to yourself. Wear eye protection, etc.

I have a bad pack my self. It is not limn but lipo. I may take it out in the drive way and see how many volts it will take ot make it blow. Curious to see what happens first.

i've seen a nimh reciever pack blow away the radio box in an 1/8 scale bugy... litterlarly blow it out of the car... the poor guy got some shrapnl in his eye and almost lost it...

Cartwheels 12.12.2006 07:22 PM

Nbcaz, you may already know this but an airplane lvc goes to to nuetral when it hits low voltage which is full reverse for us car guys. I have experienced this several times myself and even puffed a pack because of it.

nbcaznmaster 12.12.2006 08:38 PM

Then why mike sell em? I emailed PDF distribution (aka apogee) about over discharge and explotion, and they responded by saying "With all of our testing and repeated abuse, we have yet to be able to get a pack to rupture in any form."

squeeforever 12.12.2006 09:16 PM

Still don't do it...I wouldn't care what they said...What did they say about replacement/warrantee? By the way, the reason it went into full reverse on you is probably because of the Spektrum you use...Others haven't had a problem with the Li-Saver unless they were using Spektrum...

crazyjr 12.12.2006 09:20 PM

Note to self, no failsafes with an lvc and a 2.4g radio

squeeforever 12.12.2006 09:26 PM

Actually, I think its just the Spektrums because the failsafes they have when they lose the radio signal. I think the Spektrums have a longer period to connect than most, so I'm not sure...I don't know if its the same with your Nomadio, but I don't think it has anything to do with the fact that there 2.4g radios, just were you set the failsafes, the radio losing connection, etc....

coolhandcountry 12.12.2006 09:46 PM

You can program the spektrum to go to neutrel for fail safe.

crazyjr 12.12.2006 10:01 PM

Nomadio has a failsafe

Procharged5.0 12.12.2006 10:11 PM

They make the liposack and the lipobunker for a reason.

I've seen enough pictures & videos to know that you discard a puffed pack.

Cutting the leads and soaking the pack in water is supposed to settle the pack and prepare it for disposal. Someone posted the "how to" on this recently.

coolhandcountry 12.13.2006 03:06 PM

You supposed to discharge first. Then You can stab a hole in it and soak it in
salt water. Salt water has lower resistance. I talked to some one at maxamps.
They said to discharge the pack to 0 voltage. Then throw away. I still need to peel some stuff off mine.
