Yes, that is from polishing....BLING BLING!

Procharged5.0 12.27.2006 11:43 AM

I have hundreds of dollars in professional polishing equipment. It is indeed polished! I used a power buffer (looks like a benchtop grinder w/4"-6"-8" sewn cloth buffing wheel), multiple grades of polishing compounds, multiple sizes and grades of buffing wheels, as well as varoius types of sandpaper, emery cloth, scotchbrite, files, and a couple types of final polishing compound.

Polishing is as much of an art as it is a science. Parts can be clearcoated to preserve the finish and to make it "low-maintenance" but that requires a special type of clear coat designed specifically for application to raw polished metals. I have the clearcoat on hand.

If anyone wants a polished brushless motor (must be smooth can, not finned) I'll do it for you. You cover shipping and a few bucks for materials. I cover the labor as a special favor to RC-Monster forum members. It looks like NEU's, Feigao/Blue Nemesis, and Mamba maxx can be pretty easily done.

If disassembly is required before polishing, it will be up to you to do that. I won't be responsible for dissassembling/reassembling your motors unless I charge a fee.

cool did not know polishing could turn brushed aluminum into chrome.

Procharged5.0 12.27.2006 11:57 AM

It sure can! :027:

Brass, stainless steel, and to some extent Ti can all be polished!

Polish till you drop.. Elbow-grease and patience are the key to success.. (or a dremel and a bit less patience..)

Procharged5.0 12.27.2006 03:34 PM

No way the trans case could have been done with "elbo grease". That was the hardest item I have polished. I even made several custom shaped buffs to get into the tight spaces. It took around 8 hours to polish!

I wouldn't mind haveing a trans case like that. Nice.
Would be extremely sharp on my bling bling maxx.

Procharged5.0 12.27.2006 05:37 PM

Thanks! It will look good on mine when it all gets put back together! That could happen in the next couple of weeks!

Procharged....

Surely you arent going to run that and scratch it all up after all that polishing work.

The only thing that looks worse than dirt on a polish like that is scratches.

Procharged5.0 12.27.2006 06:46 PM

That was the plan.........otherwise the Maxx becomes a "Supermaxx Shrine". That could be a very cool and insanely expensive shelf queen!

Perhaps I'll have to convert my Revo to brushless.

We'll see.
