Ah! So FLM didn't make the diff. Isn't FLM thinking of making diff cases out of aluminum then? I couldn't remember if it was the diff or diff case.

BTW is that the same Henry who started to make an LSD diff for the dagger? Did he ever finish it?

Aragon: You can't have seen the Dagger drivetrain before..it's unlike anything else out there. The gearboxes are laterally-spinning geartrains, with the diff being the final gear inside the gearbox. There are two gearboxes, one front and one rear. This new diff actually uses the exact same teeth as stock (they're very strong), but they've been cut from the rest of the plastic casing and keyed onto the outer adaptor. It's all pretty strong stuff.:018:

Cemetry: Bingo! Yup, that's the same guy. He gave up on that project, as it was essentially a ball diff...and it just wasn't strong enough.:002: FLM might well mbe thinking of making diff cases, but they're nothing to do with this one.:027:

Yeah, there is so much potential it the little dagger it's crazy. The funny thing is that most people don't even realize it...

Cool!! I would guess the back motor is taking alot of pressure.
I am glad to see you got the diff to try.

Everyone remembers this truck,with good reason.

The diff looks really well done.

Maybe a bigger system in the rear than the front is a possibility,with similar revs,since it seems to be doing more work.You could have a rear biased torque split.I bet you can get this thing steering great,more ideal than a centre diff in many ways,the weight distribution looks rather good too.

I've now had a chance to do a second run with punch control completely disabled. This made a massive difference...wheras acceleration was aggressive before, now it's just downright brutal! She seems to be able to pull a wheelie at almost any speed, but it's hard to tell as I managed to crash her just a few mins into the run. :( Yup...I was doing a speed pass and simply hit the brakes a bit too hard so she somersaulted forward and landed very awkwardly. The rear turnbuckle rodends got ripped off the 'buckles and a few other minor fixable things occured, but the only real damage was a bent rear CVD bone. It's still useable, but I've already got a pair of new CVDs on the way. It was a pretty spectacular crash lol!
Despite the wheelies and increased punch, the diff is still fine. Next run I plan to go on tarmac and just go berserk with the throttle to really test it...should be fun! I'll try to get a good vid too...getting hold of someone to do it is really tricky.

Aqwut: Thanks...and I often wish I did as well lol! But nope, I built this thing to run, and run it shall. :)

Gustav...that's an interesting idea, but I can't see that it's do-able. Getting a torquier system that outputs the same RPMS on the same voltage would be pretty hard. I'm gonna fit a fan to the rear motor and see if I can get some adaptor plates to allow me to gear down further...but if that doesn't help, then another motor setup might be needed.:002: Everything on the truck was setupa nd designed with hanlding in mind, and it does pretty well...so I'm happy on that front. :)

That chassis almost looks like one of the Candyman's Juggernaut creations- very intricate & stunning, but also very practical (whoever said practical had to be dull eh?). Shame about the crash but these things always happen, useful for identifying week points I guess, hehe. Where abouts in the UK do you live, shame its not near me as I have a massive park in which to drive/bash.
On the camera man front.... mount the cam to your head with some bungies!

About that forward somersaulting, you could turn the brake on your front ESC way down. Kinda like brake bias on nitros. Just a thought. Shouldn't hurt anything to have the front ESC braking only at a few percent.

Suicideneil, thanks dude. Candyman's trucks are absolutely amazing, much more impressive than this thing IMO (he cuts all his stuff by hand!:eek: )...there is a bit of a resemblance though. I'm up in Bedfordshire, so quite a distance away from you unfortunately.:002:

Dafni...good thinking! I'd restrained from differing the settings on the two ESCs when I first got them, and kinda forgot that I could do that to be honest. I'll try that out, cheers. :)

Incidentally I've managed to fix her up with the exception of the bent CVD (should still be useable)...so I'm gonna TRY to get a vid today. No promises though...

I would probably do both brakes as the rear will be lighter and slide more if
don't cut it back some. Yeah sucks about the crash. It does happen though.

Thanks for the tip. I've now set the front brake to 40% and the rear to 25%...which should hopefully make the truck more stable under braking. The only video I've been able to get is this one:

It's not much...I filmed it while driving on my phone, and it's just mainly blipping aroundat low throttle...apart from at the end, when my trigger finger slipped a bit! This thing has got a fair bit of power.

I'm working on getting a proper vid, I promise.
