Ya it works great just make sure when you sew them together you put them back together the right way. I mean put the right peice on the top and the right peice on the bottom. That way you will get a tighter fit. Besure to sew around all the edges and the middle for maxx strentgh.

i ripped my straps after about 10 runs. ripped right where the rubber washer holds it down. i think 8 cells is too much for the straps to hold. I just ordered some of those CF holddowns, so i hope that will fix the problem, and make batt swaps quicker.
My straps broke where the strap goes thru the buckle.
Ripped Gorilla straps in the other place now, going to try some sponge and bigger washers when the next pair arrive.
Also got some longer screws to use, should definatly remove this problem then. :) |

I know you're looking at running in a long main, think you'll be able to perform a quick change in ~10 seconds w/ the CF straps? That's one thing I really like about having the batteries lower on the chassis...that you can get to them w/out having to mess w/ body clips. |

With the right linkage(short) from the servo to the draglink assembly, there is no clearance problem. Any custom parts can have a tendency to require custom setups. I have my servo all the way down and the servo horn doesn't come in contact with the battery strap parts at all. Try a longer servo horn and a shorter linkage to the draglink assembly(servo saver in some cases).

hey mike,
do you mean shorten the linage from the horn to the draglink? i think that may work. CHUD, the holddowns will shorten pit times a little bit. i have a 30 minute main on the 19th, so i will let you know how it goes. they are very strong and worth the money IMO |
Yes, shorten the linkage from the servo horn to the draglink. A longer servo horn will also help, as it moves the wheels farther thropughout the servos range of motion.
which horn should i use? got a link?
What servo do you have?
hitec 5645
The hitec servos come with some heavy duty plastic horns that work excellent. This is what I use on the 5945 servo (instead of the aluminum, which doesn' allow a long enough throw).
yup i found them. what hole do you use? what color is yours?
Mine are black. I use the second hole from the furthest out.
