No.. the HV is more like a four banger camaro... all show and no go :D

BP-Revo 03.27.2007 04:03 AM

LOL - I don't think its THAT slow. I still hit 40mph, so I think it qualifies as a little Civic. :005:

glassdoctor 03.27.2007 04:08 AM

Did I say four banger? ok... let's say a V6 Camaro....

or maybe a Civic Si

Well, that even better for me then. At this point the 1950 has been established as an M5 equivilant, so the slower car the HV is, the faster my 1950 is going to feel. :p

Now the 1950's just gotta get here...Mike already promised me the first 6 turn Hi-Amp.

BJE 03.27.2007 10:43 AM

Glassdoctor, where did you get those street tires?

glassdoctor 03.27.2007 10:50 AM

If...
1930 =M3
1940 =M5
1950 must be this

glassdoctor 03.27.2007 10:54 AM

They are Proline road hawgs... I don't think Proline makes them anymore. They still make them for 1/10 trucks.

These are the closest thing they have now I think.

truck road hawgs..

Cool, but the Turbo's are right next to the exhaust (in the back of the car). This means that there is going to be ages of turbo lag.

I think I'll stick with an N/A M5...you can still get about 750 crank hp without a problem. However 815 (I think thats a wheel rating) is just insane.

Actually, I don't think there will be much turbo lag. Thats kinda a thing of the past with the newer turbos, from what I've been told. I know that with the STS turbos for the Camaros and Corvettes, there is virtually no turbo lag what-so ever, and there mounted at the very back of the car, if you aren't familiar with them.

Ok... quiz time lol :005:

take a guess at how much faster I can make the buggy go with this setup... current best is 74mph on a peaked maxamps 5000 4s pack.... best after a couple passes is 68.4...

I have a kokam 20c 48000 4s pack to try and I can gear up and/or run bigger tires.

Hmmm.... I want to shoot for 80+ for sure...... 90mph would be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!1

So that's the goal, when I get a chance to do ti over again.. hee hee.... this is starting to get fun....

BrianG 03.28.2007 01:02 AM

Sounds fun... until you wreck badly and your poor little GPS is smashed into itty bitty pieces. :)

glassdoctor 03.28.2007 01:06 AM

hee hee

actually the last thing that happened while filming... was the GPS getting ejected... lol

just a scratch or two... :)

i am conserned about the rather large storm drains that line the street there... a wipeout or glitch at the wrong time could end up with the car in the sewer...

For those wiht English as a second or third tongue.. that's where the toliet drains, hee hee

BP-Revo 03.28.2007 01:07 AM

You crazy nut GD!

The max I'll cruise on the freeway is 80 (but I'll go faster to pass people or close gaps, etc). Even so, you are gonna go faster than that with a little XXCR?

I N S A N E ! ! ! !

Squee, sorry to burst your bubble, but there is ALWAYS turbo lag. Turbo's must be given time to spool, no turbo has an instantaneous spool. The only things capable of instant spools are superchargers, since the boost they produce is proportional to the RPM of the motor (if its belt driven) or throttle (if its driven by a seperate electric motor).

Either way, I'll stick with N/A anyway...the Corvette, Viper, M5, and most high end cars are N/A for a reason. Few high end cars are Turbocharged, and most of them that are suffer in handling compare to their N/A counterparts. For example, a Turbo Carrera will get destroyed on a track by a GT3.
