yikes - i do remember reading that thread, and i still feel your pain. hopefully that was an isolated incident with the Lehner - i have a 1940/7 hi-amp that i had in my 13+ pound SuperMaxx, and will drop in the eXT8 - hopefully with better luck!

Sower 12.03.2007 03:57 PM

Yeah, it was a brutal day. I remember it very well.

I'm sure you'll do fine with yours - I think mine came with a winding that was rubbing from the beginning and it shorted out.

nl12 12.03.2007 08:40 PM

I hear the quality of lehners has declined lately a lot of boat guys are having troubles with them too

Sower 12.04.2007 11:36 AM

I don't doubt that. I know it sure put a bad taste in my mouth. I'm pretty much Neu all the way now.

ClodMaxx 12.04.2007 11:42 AM

guys, you're freaking me out...i have to go home and do a voodoo protective hex on my motor...

actually, i have a pretty high number of runs on mine and i love it. really high performance, and it's always run cool as a cucumber - and i did my best to over and undergear my maxx to test it. so far so good, but then again i've never had it in a race. we'll see soon enough how well it holds up.

Sower 12.04.2007 11:52 AM

Well if you've run it for a while with no problem, you're probably fine. Mine didn't sound right from the beginning but I never had a Lehner before and just figured it was ok. I wouldn't worry if I were you.

more pics plz lol!!! im tryin to decide if i want a 8ight-t, st-rr, or xt8

ClodMaxx 01.02.2008 05:54 PM

it's still with dan @ rc product designs - i'm supposed to get it back sometime in the next couple of weeks (yippee!). i'll post pics as soon as i get it back.

i don't know much about the kyosho, but either of the other 2 would be a great choice. of course i'm partial to xray.

satttheman 01.07.2008 12:47 PM

i bought the 8ight-t im converting it this week

Sower 01.07.2008 12:53 PM

Nice, so what power system do you have planned for it? And by the way, do you mind sharing why you went with the 8ight-T over the ST-RR and the XT8?

satttheman 01.29.2008 11:57 PM

i went with the 8ight-t because my lhs stocks all the parts im using a 8xl and 5s maxamps heres a video of it on 6s the reciever pack died so i had to rig that battery pack also it has 120k in the center and a battery box now instead of the battery mount i made

ClodMaxx 10.06.2009 07:55 PM

some final progress! it's been a while since i updated this.

-sold the lehner/mm combo and got a Neu 1515/2D and MMM
-5s enerland 5050mah/30c/8ga wire (2 packs)
-RCM motor mount
-RCM battery tray
-installed the captured hinge pin system

i may be getting the xt8 big bores, and RCM's extended chassis. and some tires that don't balloon like crazy. oh yeah - they don't exist.

geared 46/15, it's a total rocket. :diablo:
