I was under the impression that the 1k/1k/500 was good for a lower torque nitro motor with a clutch, but the high torque instant power of electric does better with thicker oil. I never did try the 1/1/500. I just went to the 3/3/1 that other electric conversions were recommending.

My track is medium to high traction blue groove with a light cover of dust7 smooth to slightly rough. Im using a 7s on 2s lipo.

My track is similar but rarely has any dust. The clay stays damp without being muddy. I run a 6400 kv Novak motor on 2S, so our set ups are similar. I'll try a a 2/2/1 next and report how it handles.

I run my ext. crt.5 on a damp clay track(indoor). I run 3/5/1 and my motor is a mega ACn car 4580kv with 2s trakpowers. It runs real good when my servo saver isn't broken:whistle: It does push a little when under power, but from playing around with the diff oil, it does not seem like I could dial it out. The thing is that if I go with a lighter diff oil, I balloon the front tires and loose traction. My back end doesn't really swing out or spin out(I am running losi pink taper pins in the front and pink kingpins in the rear).

Hope this helps!
Bye:mdr:

Do you think boiling the servo savers would help? I have not had a problem (yet) but maybe I do not jump mine as much as other people do.

Im thinking about getting a different motor for my crt.5. After using brian's calculator im looking at A 8s. This motor on 2s would spin about 31.000 rpm while my (current motor) 7s on 2s spins about 36.000 . would going to a 8s lesson the load on my MM & lipo by alot or not that much ? . i would have to gear up one tooth to get the same speed. Im also using 2.2 truck tires. Thank's

Does your MM currently get hot? With a lot of guys running 4S in 1/8 buggies and truggies through a modded MM I would think 2S and and S can motor in the little crt.5 would be no challenge for the MM? If only your MM is getting overly hot have you considered a small fan? I know a lot of guys don't like them, but mines lasted for months in my crt.5 and i've broke about every plastic part there is on the truck.

I'm kind of in the same boat, but I'm looking for a motor with more torque than my Novak GTB/6.5 combo. My combo has a kv of 6400, but runs cool at the track geared 12:46 and truck tires, or 13:46 and buggy tires. I'd like to get MM & 7S or 8S, but I don't want to give up top speed if the Feigao can't turn a much bigger pinion. I think ultimately I'll wait a bit till I can justify a MM & Neu 1506 (5500kv).

My esc temp is fine. Im just trying to lower my lipo temp & gain a little more lowend if possible.
