It will feel like the controller is free when it finally comes in. The money was spent so long ago its almost forgotten now.

hemiblas 07.30.2008 01:36 AM

Yeah it does feel kinda nice knowing youve got something coming thats already paid for. I just upgraded my 7XL with a pretty serious cooling system in hopes of running my emaxx at 40mph without heat issues on the motor. All I need is the controller and I will have a pretty nice truck.

MetalMan 07.30.2008 01:55 AM

If anybody's whining about "promises" they should rethink their post - as far as I have read CC hasn't made any PROMISES, only hopeful ETAs. Granted, I'm not unhappy about the situation because my V1 MMM was still working the last time I used it .

TDC57 07.30.2008 03:15 AM

I wouldn’t necessarily agree with you..

I personally have $140+ bet / ridding on the fact that they won’t deliver as pensively discussed with a CC guy IE (Pdelcast) who wanted to bet me $500.00 dollars they would deliver. Either way I win, I either get the product I paid for months ago or have / get a full refund and an new ESC when they finally come out.

It’s a win win for me..

coolrunnings 07.30.2008 03:23 AM

I hope the second gen units are flawless, I got 2 on order. I'm just gonna buy as many esc's as I can mm's / mmm's / mgm's and that tekin one..you know the monster truck one that's comming out.

bruce750i 07.30.2008 10:59 AM

Something is wrong with the MMM? Mine runs great! Thanks Castle

GT35R 07.30.2008 11:41 AM

My God, I'm finally allowed to post here.

I wanted to say that waiting for the MMM sucks big time.
I've been checking every vendor/forum day and night for weeks.

I noticed last friday that Tower was the first to revise their due date
to August and was waiting to read here what the CC man would say this time
(that bet must be embarrasing - but I'm sure he could just send him one of the test ones now if he really felt like it)

I got so fed up I cancelled my pre-order and ordered a china HV ESC for 6S in my E-MAXX but then realised the whole plane ESC brake issue :oh:.
Now I've rejoined the queue for MMM and wasted $100.

In the mean time I'm using a little Sidewinder on 3S (within spec its just slow) and playing around with cooling for the KB45-12L motor.

One last thing, why-o-why are they going to plugs on the ESC??
I'm still waiting for my VXL-3scrappestescyetmade to come back from repair for broken plugs on the board among other things.

Edumakated 07.30.2008 11:42 AM

I am really hoping we get them back soon. I have two getting repaired and a regular MM in repair, so I have no back ups now. My third v1 MMM is going strong. I am not even using a fan on it anymore since they kept breaking. Been racing and driving the snot out of it with no problems for almost two months now. Knock on wood.

killajb 07.30.2008 11:50 AM

I held back on purchasing one of these for my revo conversion until the unit was proven by consumers. I'll do so again with this "V2" iteration and just focus on other projects. In the meantime, I've already purchased 3 6s 5000mah packs. I think I'll wait and see how the combo fares as well before buying a Neu motor separately. I applaud Castle for boldly going in this direction (as they did with the MM) as it will finally make electric 1/8 scale racers on even terms with nitro-powered cars. I'm sure in due time they will deliver the product they set out to create in the first place.

bruce750i 07.30.2008 12:54 PM

I don't like the plugs also what motor besides Vxl and cc's 2200 motor has long wires?

Jeremy1976 07.30.2008 05:02 PM

I got my money refunded from Tekno today for the MMM. I will purchase it once it is out and i hear there are no issues with the 2nd version. Money I can use for better things.

None. You can solder leads directly into the female plugs on the esc, with your own choice of plugs on the motor and esc wires.

KINGSKID 07.30.2008 06:34 PM

WOW, still nothing from Patrick? that's a little strange:neutral:

jnev 07.30.2008 06:41 PM

He is probably hard at work doing his best to get them out by the 13th which is when CC predicted they would start shipping the damaged V1MMM's... or at least I hope what I said is true... he hasn't posted all week either... hmmm.

Larrydino 07.30.2008 06:41 PM

yeah..im worn out from waiting..talk about a marketing bellyflop

MTBikerTim 07.30.2008 07:58 PM

It will be worth it when it gets here. I am still in awe of the smoothness of the MMMs power.

RBMike 07.30.2008 08:45 PM

Was it smooth? I can't remember.

bdebde 07.30.2008 09:19 PM

^+1:lol:

MTBikerTim 07.30.2008 09:22 PM

Mine was. It may have just been that it was in such a heavy vehicle but there was no cogging on slow start ups and the power was so smooth. I can't wait to see that e-mail saying a parcel has been shipped to you from castle creations.

edit: I was wondering if that was a tongue in cheek remark. I suppose it was.

Pdelcast 07.30.2008 09:22 PM

Well Gentlemen,

I know -- we are all tired of waiting (me included!)

But I watched the last of 2000 MMM circuit boards run through the machines today, and get queued up for inpection / test.

RSN. I promise.

Patrick
