E-Revonut 09.27.2008 07:35 AM

+1 reschedule 10/12 doesn't sound to bad.

Arct1k 09.27.2008 07:46 AM

Anywhere as long as we race :)

Finnster 09.27.2008 09:02 AM

Well I'll be in town regardless, so I may check in and go one way or the other if it may be open, IOW, I'll bring all my stuff and watch here to see "weather" its on or not. This is my one shot at it this year, so too bad its got messed up :(

Finnster 09.27.2008 09:24 AM

Ok, walked the dogs, the rain is gross. I need to leave soon to get up there anyway, so I don't think I'm going to bring my stuff after all. More than likely I'd just short a Rx or esc if I tried driving in this. Disappointing, but what can you do.

Electric Dave 09.27.2008 09:40 AM

Monster Mike....give us the official word...

RC-Monster Mike 09.27.2008 09:45 AM

I will make a decision eventually, Dave. Either way, I am going to the barn in the AM to work things out with Lou.
If the weather reports are true, we won't be racing tomorrow it seems.

RC-Monster Mike 09.27.2008 10:39 AM

Looking at the re-schedule options - there really aren't many realistic options available. Next weekend is RCMTRA. The 12th is the final leg of a point series between the Barn and Wolcott raceway and everyone will be at Wolcott(track owner and all the "regulars"). Lou will let us run with hih half-fast-gas-blast, but I will be at IHobby that weekend in Chicago.
The track is "rock hard and ready" acording to Lou - after rain all day yesterday, we can still walk the track without leaving a foot print. If the rain stays away, I plan on racing tomorrow so look forward to seeing anyone that shows up(barring a complete rain day of course).

Electric Dave 09.27.2008 10:46 AM

I'm ready to race...the morning may be a bit wet but I'll bet the sun comes out before the end of the afternoon.

Charging right now...see you all tomorrow.

AutoXMan 09.27.2008 11:08 AM

Looks like the storm isn't as bad as they cracked up to be. See you all tomorrow at the barn.

lutach 09.27.2008 11:28 AM

I will be there as well.

Finnster 09.27.2008 03:26 PM

Damn, I'm in Chester now, and its pretty dry. I guess rain in the AM, but its perfectly fine now. I didn't have a chance to bring my stuff, but maybe I'll swing by in the AM and check things out. This sucks, I haven't been able to drive in a couple months I've been so busy and just didn't have time today to wait around to see what the weather would do. I would have had to take a 2nd car up here, and it wasn't worth doing that on a 25% chance of racing tomorrow. The weather reports have been overly pessimistic the last couple days, so if you have a chance to come I would.
Oh well, always next year, I was really wanting to race a fleet of .5s running around the track. See whoever tomorrow

AutoXMan 09.27.2008 04:41 PM

I think we got lucky with the storm, tomorrow should be good conditions!

lutach 09.27.2008 06:48 PM

All my things are ready. Since I don't have my tool boxes anymore, I'm going to the RCM Bash Brasilian style . I hope to meet you guys there face to face. It would be an honor to see some of the great RCM members and owner for the first time.

Arct1k 09.27.2008 08:31 PM

My car is loaded!

magman 09.27.2008 08:54 PM

Make sure someone takes a vid. camera...especially when the long jump competition!!!

Have fun everyone....I will be joining you next year..

magman 09.27.2008 08:56 PM

Hey Arct1K...you have enough cars for half of the crew...

Seriously..have a great time!

I am extremely jealous of all who are attending...I have already penciled in some vac. time for next year so I can attend..

cemetery gates 09.27.2008 09:08 PM

I'll be there guys. I'm just bringing my jammin CRT though, no others are ready.:oh: It's gonna be cool to see you all again!

Bye:mdr:

E-Revonut 09.27.2008 09:24 PM

Looking for a general consensus. Who plans on still going? Is the indoor track big enough for crt.5s to race if it rains out?

Need to know asap, if I'm going I need to get a few hours of sleep now so I can leave about 3AM

Arct1k 09.27.2008 09:28 PM

I'm going... It looks like only 30% chance of rain - maybe thunderstorms late in the day...

Indoor track maybe tight but we can try!

E-Revonut 09.27.2008 09:33 PM

I don't want to make the drive for nothing is all. If we can at least race the little guys inside I'll come. What kind of indoor track is it? Any pics?

auto2 09.27.2008 10:08 PM

indoor track is tight and technical. fairlly large crossover jump is cool. I run my 808 in there sometimes. 1/10 scale is no problem. dont have a pick at the moment. ill look.

AutoXMan 09.28.2008 12:18 AM

So now we are thinking of the indoor place???, I guess I won't be coming then...

E-Revonut 09.28.2008 03:09 AM

Leaving Syracuse area now headed to the barn.

brushlessboy16 09.28.2008 08:19 AM

have fun guys :(

auto2 09.28.2008 06:59 PM

well we made a whole day of racing. The rain held off just enough . i have some cleaning to do.LOL!
my V1 and V2 ran flawlessly.

brushlessboy16 09.28.2008 07:10 PM

BRIANG QUICK WE NEED THE
"this thread is nothing without pichers" thing :D

magman 09.28.2008 07:14 PM

please Someone Post Some Pictures....:mdr:

lutach 09.28.2008 07:59 PM

The pictures are coming and a video of the long jump contest. I had fun even though the track was tough. I had a problem with my Neu's thread giving away and the main, I thought some thing went wrong, but it was my fault. My Deans came loose . The ESC worked perfect. Too bad the driver wasn't able to perform like it. It was an honor meeting some of you guys face to face.

big greg 09.28.2008 08:47 PM

i woulda been mad if i ran there, i had a mm go up in flames and smoke, stripped 2 spurs, stripped an airtronics servo, and fried a 8800t, crazy day!

cemetery gates 09.28.2008 09:04 PM

It was nice meeting all of you again! Sadly I broke my CRT's knuckle about 3 laps into the first qualifier(aluminum and hard coated):diablo:. I wish I could have stayed and actually raced! Who won the electric truggy? What about the long jump?

Bye:mdr:

Arct1k 09.28.2008 09:53 PM

Mike to the elec truggy and MT - I managed third in both - One more lap and I would have won LOL as mike's CVD went on final lap and the number 2 Ben's battery cut out!

I picked up the long jump with a X1CR on 1512 1y 2600KV 5S... Very odd this MMM thing - It survived multiple long jumps / back flips and then dies cruising back around to the pits with the BEC failure! Go figure...

It was too wet and too mad a course for the .5's which was a shame... next year maybe...

Nice to meet Mike, Luciano, E-revonut, finnster (no cars), cemetery gates, Dave, Ben and Jamie from FLM - Mike and Jamie had been busy at the machine shop knocking up a new 1/8 buggy chassis which looked great - The slipperential was in attendance too!

The funniest moment for me was when I lost a 6s1p A123 pack out the side of my G3R mid way through the a main mt - Landed at luciano's feet - He looked most surprised when I drove off as I kept running with the remaining 6s1p pack - lol - Both gorillamaxx straps broke and the one remaining pack stayed in with just my cross strap. I was bloody lucky I didn't get a short with the a live male deans adapter just floating around but I wasn't stopping for anything but flames! The pack held up really well though on 6s1p.

PS One other MMM died today of BEC failure at the track.

brushlessboy16 09.28.2008 10:00 PM

hahaha, nice chris, at least you have a shiny new v3 coming your way

Arct1k 09.28.2008 10:01 PM

Two of them now...

cheesecake 09.28.2008 10:53 PM

sounds like alot of fun i hope to attend this next year.

auto2 09.29.2008 07:08 AM

hey im BEN not dan. LOL yea i had my cut off set to 12.8 and with 1/2 a lap left it stopped. I pushed the car over the line LOL . 5s 3700 pack. There was so much traction it was making both my cars push terrible.couldnt use the throttle to make the car pivot for the tight turns it would just lift the ft tires. i thinking mechanical brakes for conditions like this.

i had an old nitro xb8 for the long jump and the clutch bell bearing broke so i used the 808 but the battery already had a 10 minute main on it and didnt have enough left in it.
really nice meeting everyone.

oh and both my V1 and V2 are still working. the v2 is unmodded and the v1 has an external bec and fan

brushlessboy16 09.29.2008 07:57 AM

im ben :D sound like everyone had alot of fun....

....where are the pics

Finnster 09.29.2008 08:12 AM

As said, I didn't have a chance to bring my trucks, but I was in town so I went over w/ a vid camera anyway, and got a lot of it on tape (when I wasn't marshalling and slipping in the mud.) I'll get some vid up when I get a chance, but it may take me a bit.

It was a cool but tough truck. Dave Mac (MacII) was kicking ass most of the day, TQ'd and led a lot of the laps in the mixed MT class and the BL truggy class. Sadly he had probs w/ both trucks late in the race and went out on both. Poor Dave, his luck doesn't hold up at the Bashes. At least someone can give Mike a good run for his money. ;)

It was nice seeing you who I'd met before, and meeting those I'd only met here. I'll be back with my trucks next time lol.

REVO-DADDY 09.29.2008 01:38 PM

Do you guys know if the results are posted anywhere? I did not see them yesterday.

brushlessboy16 09.29.2008 07:11 PM

where are those pics..s

Good to see you again Ryan...thanks for the kind words, I honestly think there is some kind of curse on me at the Barn...happens all the time, great qual rounds and then something dies in my truck during the main. The funny thing is that I've been racing weekly at a small local track and I don't think I have one DNF this whole season. Then I get two in one day - crazy. Regardless it was a really great track - perhaps the best layout I've ever raced on. I LOVED the triple, and all the other parts. Super fun. While it was totally insane running in that much mud, I have to say that it was even more fun to slide the truck around the corners. I felt like I was drifting at times.

My damage seems to be a BEC related MMM death and oddly enough, a Nomadio Transceiver which I've had for years!

If anyone (hint hint Mike C!) wants to race at a very Electric friendly track, consider coming down to Pin Shop in Oakville CT, we race every Saturday, sign up is 1pm, racing starts at 2pm. Small crowd but there are a number of E-Revo's and a few 1/8th conversions.

Now I've got to put the titans back in the E-Revo...what a let-down that's going to be! I'm sending my Monster to Mother Castle with a note asking for them to hold it till the v3's are out...I want to get off this roller coaster.
