TDC57 01.15.2009 04:10 AM

Ok guys just and FYI.. I had a three hours consolation with a layer today and I’m doing this WRONG! So wrong I was laughed at!!... That made me feel great!..

I explained that my main goal for this chair is to give it development nations and provide them with mobility; I explained that I’m not looking for any money / compensation just a name recognition so my kids can be proud of what there father did / gave to the world as a gift. I explained that I would love to have the opportunity to explain how the chair is made and maybe give a speech or two (I love to public speaking) on why it was done, who I’m hoping to benefit it from and if I was lucky, oversee the initial startup phase where the chair in manufactured in the development nations.. (I don’t think I’m asking for too much) well apparently in the real world I’m am…

It was explained to me this way..

Since I’m giving this gift away to the world I don’t need to worry about opening a company or a non profit org. I don’t need to worry about any insurances at all, I don’t need any grant money, I don’t need to worry about really anything other than marketing the chair and myself at this point..

1. I need to get my own website up ASAP / before I even think about putting out a press release. When the press release goes out, the first question the news people will want to know is (who is Shaun) and what exactly is his goal and how did he do it?? I’ll need to link the press release back to the site explain the overall chair and it intended purpose.

I was reassured that the local news is a given, but in order to reach national status I’ll need to partner up with a non profit organization first. (I still don’t understand this one) but OK??

I was advised to contact existing non-profit organizations who are already involved in making 3rd world chairs and seek advise on who I should contact for publication or see if they are interested in becoming a partner (so – to – speak) in order to go national, once I partner up with a org I’ll probably lose all control and will lose all credit at that point. I was told the inventor always get screwed! And I’ll be lucky to get anything from this at all other personally knowing that in a small way it once my chair.. (Reality sucks).. but than again I need to be the bigger man and give it up for the sake of humanity, even if I get nothing out of it and it becomes someone’s else brain child I need to let it go! And keep the personal satisfaction that I / we all did our part to help other!..

Once I have open up a website, only then will I appear to be genuine in my offer to the world. OK that kind of makes sense ..

So to recap!..
1. Start a website (go-daddy) here I come!..
2. Put out the press release and see where it takes us!.. By the way I was shown what a true example of proper pres release looks and read like and I was WAY OFF!.. I hate to admit it but the version I saw was extremely better than what I had envisioned!, it was laid out in a way that I wasn’t even close!.. I felt like I was 8 years old seeking advise from my dad on how to write a letter! My versions (apparently) was that pathetic.. Who know!..
3. Once I’ve gone as far as I can go with the press release than I need to partner up with a non prop and give it away and walk a way and hope for the best!..

It’s not what I thought!, it’s not what I wanted to hear, it not fair, but that reality… I just need to keep in mind that the overall goal of the project is to give the gift of mobility and if I stick to my guns follow their advise I can achieve my goal, even know no one will now it came from us..

Thanks for your time guys!.. I’ve got some things to do from here on my own if I want to see it through.. this will most likely be my last update to the team as I don’t want to waste your time without being able to give any of the credit away to those who deserve it!.. YOU! The RCM family..

I’m thinking of closing the thread, I hate to think I wasted your time with this project, if I did I deeply apologize for it!.. I’m truly sorry!.. And extremely bummed at the moment!..

I’m going to bed!.. chow..

jayjay283 01.15.2009 04:18 AM

Well said Jerry, Shaun you sort of offered in a way to just let a corporation have your idea and run with it. The potential and work into it I think you should go with it. It will be your life though, phone 24/7. Just a nightmare of work, but I hate work, I decided to retire at 32 but that hasn't worked out well with the economy LOL, Still havent worked (really in 5 years) This sir will be a full on business start up. Need money for lawyers or at least a few G's to file some papers on the net. I do have a couple ideas ill PM you about after I speak with some people early next week. Check out my friends minority woman owned small business ( total front) http://www.stagenterprise.com/

Start by making a web site, getting some nice pamphlets done and a kind of vague business plan, or just web post them and I can print them out. I may have a good idea, but im retarded so dont put the eggs in this basket. My father was/is on the board of something like the WTO and I think if you throw him a solid business plan he can hand it to the right folks. Dont hand it away, your idea, though you may/maynot want anything for it, you should still benefit. JMI

JERRY2KONE 01.15.2009 06:56 AM

Situation.

Your situation is much like that of the people going on to American Idol. Shaun you have a great idea and don't let one meeting change your heart in this. Just like the old doctor saying goes "get a second opinion". We can obviously tell that you were really put off by whoever you spokewith, but don't let one person stop you from living your dreams Mr. Life is full of hard knocks, and the way we show our kids is by not taking no for an answer(at least not the first time anyway). And secondly is if you do fail, then get back up and keep right on moving forward in spite of the setbacks. This is not over by any means Shaun. You just have to fiure out the best way to get this project off the ground, and that is going to be by finding the right person, school, or company who believes in what you are trying to do. No more no less. Kick your self pitty to the curb young man and get back on that horse. You have come too far and put in too much to just let this fall by the wayside. Sleep it off and re-think your approach. This is no different than fighting your way through any other beaurocracy(spellcheck) machine. I know there is some organization who will love what you are up to.

_paralyzed_ 01.15.2009 08:07 AM

Absolutely put up a website, I agree with that.

Join an NPO and give up your dream? HELL NO.

You wanted to make sure you were okay legally. For that, the lawyers were useful. They told you their corporate way to go about your project. Screw them! You now know the legality, so go about it your own way.

DO NO GIVE UP UNTIL ALL OPTIONS ARE EXHAUSTED

If all attempts fail, then join a NPO, and go about it their way.

We can get you national coverage. This doesn't have to happen today. Lean on us man.

TDC57 01.15.2009 01:22 PM

Hey guys.. (Jay, Jerry and Harold) !!!!! Thanks for the pep talk ( I feel better after some sleep!), I'm down but by no means OUT!... HELL NO!..

Well it was a kick in the balls (I’m not going to lie to you) about that!.. I did feel like a little boy be schooled on the ways of life (talking about get knocked down a peg or two)..

But at least I know how to proceed!.. It tore me up inside when I was told that I can’t use RCM as a spring board, I was told that if I / credit you the TEAM / family I wont look genuine in my offer (I don’t get this) I’m going to find a way. I feel horrible, I feel embarrassed, I feel like I’ve wasted your valuable time for nothing!.. I’m sorry!!! I never meant to hurt anyone here or miss lead anyone, I so much wanted this to be team success, I wanted to bring exposure to the Monster and let he world know how cool everyone is here! And that anything is possible with friends..

I know there is still a way, I just haven’t figured it out yet!.. But I will…

Anyway I need to think of some of names for the site (domain names) I need to contact some of the more reputable non-profit agencies and speak with there marketing people.. I’m not giving up on the project! (HELL NO) the bottom line is I feel that even know it goes completely sourer on me and someone else will end up with all the credit, it’s still an outstanding cause, It’s still a noble cause and as long as it betters one person then I don’t believe I’ve failed in my goal..

So with the above said if you guys want me to let you know where I’m at and what I need help with Very cool…:yipi: if not I understand that too…

Thanks for your time everybody!

Shaun..

P.S.
This is what I need help with now if you’re up for it (???)
Domain names (IE) a website address that doesn’t exist now!

I would also like to hear who you think (non-profit wise) I should contact!.
My first choice is the (OLPC) one laptop per child http://laptop.org/en/ this is an outstanding org and they are doing fabulous things throughout the world..

I also know of (AMREF) they bring quality and affordable heath care to those who need it most!. http://www.amref.org/what-we-do/

Unicef and United way are others, I was even thinking about the Ronald Mcdonald foundation (?)..

Thanks again for your time guys…

Shaun.

Fast5sRevo88 01.15.2009 04:03 PM

I may be speaking for myself here, but u have no reason to be sorry for wasting our time; i waste people's time everyday and don't say sorry:lol:. Seriously though, u have just made use of the time we already were wasting. I was just sitting on my butt like all wheelchair people do, watching this thread, coming up with ideas for my offroad powerchair. You didn't waste anyone's time; u gave them the time of their lives. Don't give up and don't give out your ideas!

JERRY2KONE 01.15.2009 06:03 PM

Listen to us.

Listen to us as we are the powers from above. (Hypnosis)Don't look into the light, stay on the darkside. Stay focused and you will succeed. Don't worry, be happy. Is it working Shaun??? If anyone has wasted any time here we do it on our own. So stop already. Yes your suggestions sound like a good start. Also think about contacting someone like Bill Gates. Just think if he jumps on this and adds a free Ipod, or intslled laptop with each chair. Plus he has tons of donation money. Your just going to have to pull a name out of your butt with this one. I am sure that you will get some good input from RCM though. We have some pretty witty people in here. Like "TDC Wheels", or "RCM transortation", or something like "Leave the riding to us". "Wheels on the house", or "Angel Wheels". I am sure that whatever you come up with that you will acheive your goals and dreams with this. So stop feeling bad for nothing. This is going to happen, I can feel it. Keep pushing forward Shaun no matter what anyone tells you. Do not let someone else take your drive away.

suicideneil 01.15.2009 09:11 PM

Do you guys have that show 'Dragon's Den' in the states? I think getting on that show would be useful, especially with all the know-how the dragons have.

You have a great product that would sell well if marketed correctly ( I know about the not for profit thing but you have to cover costs and overheads etc plus leave something over for more investment), so setting up a basic website as mentioned would be a good start.

If you've ever heard of a company called 'Shelter Box', then their approach is highly successful; people donate money to them as they are a charity, and then they buy (in bulk) items of survival kit and shelter equipment that goes into a big box and gets shipped off to 3rd world countries or disaster areas (think earth quakes, floods, refugee camps etc). You could setup the chairs as a charity and then as people donate, you can buy all the parts needed to complete a single chair, and package them up as a kit and ship them out, to be assembled at their new home (clear pictoral instructions would be included along with glue and a tube of grease for the wheel bearings etc).

That approach would be good, or worth thinking about I reckon.

Shaun.

• Front page top left Logo! (Create one) Doooo.. • Setup backdrop of main chair pre-installed “marked up” behind font on main content /opening page!. (needs to look designing!) lol.lol.. I crack myself up!..

Front Page right side running down from the top to the middle of the page:
Extremely worthy charities that need your help!..
OLPC http://laptop.org/ , AMREF http://www.amref.org/ ,IMI http://www.intelligentmobility.org/ , Unicef http://www.unicef.org/ , United Way http://www.unitedwayla.org/

Front page main content middle of the page:
It is said that over 150 million people who live in developing nations have the need for a wheelchair but only about 2% actually have access to them. Wheelchairdesigns along with a selected few extremely kind and giving individuals from RC-Monster.com wanted to address this issues by utilizing many great minds thus ultimately creating an extremely durable, all-terrain friendly wheelchair that can be repaired & maintained if needed using only local resources and local craftsmanship. This one of kind (multiple patents pending) concept incorporates renewable resources and new out of the box idea approach to providing an extremely affordable wheelchair while keeping quality, functionality and the ability to grow with this the end-user in site at all times, this new wheelchair is sure to revolutionize the way future chairs are thought of and constructed..

First tab (Key Features) main content
Our wheelchair incorporates many “one of the key features” that are normally reserved for the higher end chair with little to no extra cost added, we also wanted to make sure that every detail of your wheelchair could withstand ever-changing environments (cold, heat, snow, rain and wind) we were able to add as many as (9) such key aspects into the design of this new revolutionary wheelchair.

First tab middle of the page listing all 11 features (show pictures of each feature)

Front Casters:
Were using high clearance 6”x2”front casters to ease curb and ditch climbing ability as well as provide unlimited directional movement,

Wheels, Tires and Push Rims:
we also utilized 25” mountain bike wheels with off tires to help absorb shock from uneven surfaces as well as to for enhancing traction and better stability. Then we incorporated a non-welded push rim design to work with the rear wheels allowing the end-user the ability to use either sue the tire or the push rim depending on the existing road and weather condition one might encounter in a undeveloped nation.

Adjustable Footrest and Neck and Head Support:
Wheelchairdesigns also wanted to ensure that the chair is capable of growing with its end user by adding two special features to our wheelchair that are scarcely available even in today mass produced wheelchairs . The first was to provide the a foot rest system that would work for the young, small, tall and old, if the end user is young or on the smaller side of height, then you simply install the footrest in it upright position, if the end user is older and or taller then the foot rest can be tilted back providing both additional 5+ inches of leg length and rear ankle support system ensuring that the legs do not fall back in to or under the chair. The second of these out of the box yet extremely functional items is the addition of the rear head – neck support system. This system is completing removable if the end user has control of the upper part of the body and is able to self support his or her neck & head, if the end user is unable to use there own muscle that we have provided a resting / brace system that will compensate for this thus insuring the end user head and neck are comfortable supported.

Push – Pull Rear Bars:
Wheelchairdesigns also incorporated a “push-pull” rear hand rail system witch allows the helper to either pull or push on a bar that spans the rear of the chair, thus allowing the helper extra grip during high grade climbs as well as steep descents.

Rear Cargo area and Wheelie Bar
The final two items that were incorporated in this wonderful one of kind 3rd world wheelchair is a rear cargo area, allowing the end user to store and fasten down such items as (books, small boxes, etc) without the burden of carrying these items on the lap as many user are forced to d. the last item incorporated into the chair is purely for safety of the end user we installed a wheelchair tip bar was incorporated to ensure that the chair would not flip over backwards, thus providing the end user with a bit of confidence that they will remain upright during their time in the wheelchair.

New Age Design and a Comfortable Seat
WheelChairDesigns incorporated many unique designs features into this wheelchair. We added interesting curves, outstanding axel & frame supports and finished off the chair with an extremely durable colored surface. I also were able to incorporate a 3” off the shelf foam padded chair to provide the end user with the commutability not communally found in any other 3rd world wheelchair..

Second Tab (Building Our Chair) main content

Minimal Cost and Production Time are Key Elements to Success:
Wheelchairdesigns is aware that cost and manufacturing time is a strong consideration in regards the chair success or failure, well our wheelchair accounts for all of these concerns and more. We were extremely concerned that many existing chairs can cast $400-500.00 in development nations, which results in spending nearly twice the monthly household income. Well this wheelchair and our others one that are be introduced to the world currently cost $180 -$200 (Retail) and can be mass produced for just over a $100 per chair!..

Since Wheelchairdesigns used 90% of high end / high strength 1” PVC schedule 40 for its construction, there are now special skills required, the entire chair can be constructed within several hours. The utilization of 1” PVC proves not only a quick manufacturing turnaround time but also provides strength,

I learned that disabled people in the country face costs of $400 and up, more than twice the national average monthly household income. As a further challenge, standard chairs are no match for Guatemala’s potholed streets, muddy roads and rugged hills. Wielding hacksaws and gas welders, the students cannibalized a pair of old mountain bikes to build an inexpensive, dirt-road-worthy chair. Their easy-to-¬reproduce creation had one more advantage over other wheelchairs shipped to the developing world: “There are bike shops in every country,” says Dan Oliver, who joined the effort as a Caltech engineering undergraduate along with Charles Pyott, a student at the nearby Art Center College of Design. “Take our wheelchair into any shop in the world, and they could fix it.”

TDC57 01.17.2009 06:28 AM

Building the webpage part II

Third Tab (About WheelChairDesigns) main content
Inspired by the OLPC http://laptop.org/ , AMREF http://www.amref.org/ ,IMI http://www.intelligentmobility.org/ , Unicef http://www.unicef.org/ , United Way http://www.unitedwayla.org/

I and a few kind hearted individuals from RC-Monster.com banded together as one with one common goal in mind to build the coolest, cheapest and most reliable 3rd world / developing nations wheelchair in existence. RC-Monster a website that specializes is converting dirty, smelly and ozone depleting Nitro fuel vehicles to clean, re-renewable electrical power. RC-Monster.com has a way of attracting the BEST and BRIGHTEST individuals within in the numerous industries and throughout the world. After spending nearly year there building extremely high-end and high dollar on of one of the kind builds and gaining the respect and admiration of many others I decided it was time to utilize the teams talents for the better of humanity. If we can build the best of the best radio controlled vehicles, we can ban together with our talents and better the world (one person at a time) by giving them the gift of mobility. What great gift is there than the opportunity to give someone self esteem, to give someone the opportunity to better themselves.

As quoted by James D. Wolfsensohn, the former President of the World Bank:
“Disabled people are more likely than other people to live in grinding poverty. Unless disabled people are brought into the development mainstream, it will be impossible to cut poverty in half by 2015 or to give every girl and boy the chance to achieve a primary education. ”

Also According to the UN Economic and Social Council, there are 300 million people with disabilities in the developing world. Of these, 20 million need wheelchairs to become mobile again. Without chairs, many have no choice but to stay confined to their houses or drag themselves along to get anywhere, exposing themselves to potential injury and disease. Many children are unable to attend school. Chances for education, employment, and community involvement disappear. Under such conditions, they often end up either begging or relying on family members to support them, well this is all about to change.

WheelchairDesigns has produced a chair that can even be manufactured here in UAS!, our chair can be shipped in a normal bike size cardboard box, and actually comes with the opportunity for the end user to customize the foot & head rests to best suite their individual needs. It’s often said that one individual has the power to change / better the world for others, well I am that individual and I sincerely hope that our wheelchair has the opportunity to do just that! I believe that this wheelchair will change the world one person at a time.

Sincerely,

Shaun P. Bogel..

I have NO intensions of building this chair myself for sale, this is my gift to the world and my legacy to my kids!, My only goal here is provide an outstanding product that someone else can mass produce and provide to the world. My main goal for this wheelchair is to give it development nations and provide the most people in need with the gift of mobility. I would love to have the opportunity to explain how this chair is made, what exactly is involved and give speeches on why it was constructed and why it was started in the first palace, I’m also want the opportunity to oversee the initial startup phase where the chair in manufactured in the development nations.. (I don’t think I’m asking for too much)

This is GREAT opportunity I hope you take advantage of it and help me give the gift of mobility with an outstanding product that can massed produced for just over $100.00 per Wheelchair..

Thank you for your time and your consideration.

Just my input sir.

Below is a copy of what is on your website, and I made a few changes so as to make the reading flow a little bit easier from my perspective. You can use it or leave it the way it is. This is your project and you have the final say so. I also just tried to email the new address that is listed in your contact for the site, and it is undeliverable according to Yahoomail.

Wheelchair Designs understands the need for more afordable wheelchairs in developing nations throughout the world, as well as providing a low cost alternative solution. Ultimately providing the gift of mobility to disabled people in places that this may have been impossible to achieve before now. What greater gift is there than to offer a boost to someones self esteem, to give someone the opportunity to better themselves, and to put their independance and dignity back into their own hands.

It is said that over 150 million people who live in developing nations have the need for a wheelchair but only about 2% actually have access to them due to resources and overwhelming costs.

Wheelchair Designs wanted to address this issue by designing and building an extremely affordable, durable, all-terrain friendly wheelchair that can be repaired & maintained if needed using only localy available resources and craftsmanship.

Great job with the website Shaun. Need to end up with more pics of the chair, and you could use a good wordsmith'ing on it (I noticed quit a few grammatical and spelling errors as I was reading through it). If you want, I can copy and paste the wording into WORD (or program of your choice) and provide the fixes - but I didn't know if you were already going to do that.

On a technical side. I noticed in some of the pictures that the front caster mounts are not normal to the ground. This will result in the wheel tending to remain with the caster lead (distance between the centerline of the wheel and the centerline of the swivel) facing toward the front of the chair (did that make any sense???). Did you notice that at all with your testing?

_paralyzed_ 01.18.2009 04:09 PM

Same thing here, some grammatical and spelling errors (even caught a spelling error on quick glance at Jerry's corrected text, I'm really anal!) I'm happy to help with, sorry I couldn't open the word doc's and do it sooner.

Have you thought about how you will get the word out? Going through "appropriate channels" as reccomended by the suits may be effective, but I really think a personal campaign will yeild more public and private donations making a greater "gift" , rather than turning your baby over to the corporate machine and stepping back. Rage against the machine, Shaun!

Hey Neil.. thanks for stopping bye and leaving comments.. (appreciate it!) I’ve never heard of the “shelter box” but I’m looking into it just because it sound great and defetnly worth looking into it..

Thanks again for stopping by sir and have a great week

Shaun.

Awesome.. thanks Jerry!... I really appreciate the thought, the second set of eyes and the re-write…

Thank you for stopping by and leaving comments, I’m trying to get more pictures up but I’m having issues with the program.. I’m trying to YES I do need a word smith.. LOL.LOL.. if you have the time and would like to do a page or two that would be WAY COOL..

On the technical side: regarding the front casters I’m not following you ?? I’m sorry!, the front wheels swivel 360 degrees forward moment pushes the front wheels backward, backward movement swivels the caster forward and same goes when turning left or rite.. I’m missing something here I just know??

Thanks again for stopping bye and leaving comments / offering to help!.. YES I’ll take it if you find yourself with some free time..

Have a great weekend SIR..

Shaun.

Hahahahaaaaa that’s great I need anal now.. LOL.LOL.. thanks for looking at it Harold.. please feel free to forward comments back regarding what you noticed was incorrect…

In regards to getting to the word out, well once my website is up and presentable to the masses I’ll send out the press release to the local news & papers and see if / how far I can go with that, I’m also righting letters now to my favorite originations as well as making a list of marketing directors within other orgs to see if they can help me spread the word and seek sponsor ship, I’m also go to look into what Neil said . I’m also planning on applying for a government grant (hopping for 100K) LOL… not holding my breath but hey it’s worth the shoot.. if I cant get it moving with the next few months then I’ll change course and give it a way, but for now I’m going to see what I can and cant do..

Again… thank you so much for your time Harold I deeply appreciate it!...

Have a great one

Hey shaun.

Hey Shaun thanks for the photo update. It is nice to finally see who we are talking with about all of these things. Your attitude and forttitude are commendable efforts to the cause. You do look like one of the beach bums hanging out there. All you needed was a surfboard. Your kids sure do seem to enjoy hanging out with Dad. You should involve your wife or at least make the effrots to do so. Even if she rejects your offers at least you can say that you tried. Marriage is never perfect by any means and we go through ups and downs throughout the years, but we should never give up on anyone if we truly love them. Don't be so hard on her or yourself young man. Life is too short for adding fuel to the fires of turmoil and disfunction.

Anyway I just love seeing your updates with how you involve your kids in what you are doing. I need to do more in that way myself. Your projects are always an inspiration to all of us Shaun. I personaly believe that your wheelchairs will reach some level of notariety purely on your enthusiasm alone. Keep it up kiddo. You are on the right track TDC.

FireWire79 01.18.2009 11:31 PM

Maybe we can all pitch in on the word-smithing issue. I was thinking of helping out with that as well. Why not just copy and paste the text into any old document editor and proofread/change as needed. Then submit for TDC57's approval.

Each one of the editors will come up with slightly different changes and read styles. This would help take some of the work load off TDC and spread it around to us. I know that many people are reading these and any help that we can offer will be great.

The more eyes that we have on this the better. I'll be sending you some attachments in the next few days with my notes. I am glad to help in anyway that I can. You inspire me.

JThiessen 01.19.2009 12:19 AM

I'm not sure how to explain the trailing nature of the caster without actually showing you (and I'm not certain that it will be an issue in this case). Lets see...to establish the directionality of lead casters - if you look at the picture of you in the yellow chair with the wheels lifted off the ground - notice that the caster is swiveled toward the back of the chair? That's what I'm referring to as the lead on the caster, and how swivel casters have a direction. Now, with the chair on the ground, and with no one in it, do the casters tend to want to extend toward the front of the chair? If so, this is due to the angle that they are mounted at. I noticed that the blue chair doesn't have as much of an angle to the mount, nor as much lead to the caster.

Like I said, I dont know that it will be a manuverability issue with this chair. Its something I have issues with on carts that some of my guys put together at work if they dont pay attention to quality.

I wont be able to edit up a page until tomorrow night - just took a couple Nyquil - gotta shake this cold!

Thanks Guys

OOOOOoohhhhh I got you now!.. I.E. the light came on, the clouds parted!.. this is what I’ve got, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THIS IS RIGHT???

When I lift up the front of the chair “Blue one” the front caster really don’t swing any particular direction (is that good or bad??) when I lift up the on the yellow chair the front casters do swing torwards the rear of the chair.. what does that mean ??? I’ve spent almost 20 hrs in the chair thus far and really never noticed anything wrong (but then again I’ve never been in a wheelchair, so I don’t know) what should it being doing, what should I be looking for ??? in either / both chairs I’m required to straiten out he front wheels when I’m moving forward is that a bad thing ?? what is wrong with carts at your work when the casters are installed incorrectly ??. I hate to thing I’ll give somebody something that’s wrong!..

Thanks again for your time and again if I’m doing anything wrong or missing the picture PLEASE CALL ME ON IT!.. That’s not my intention at all and I will address / fix it, it’s just at this time I don’t think anything is wrong… I should / need to make a few of these and give them to local children’s hospital and let them give me some feed back as well.. Actually that not a bad idea other than spending the money!.. but then again it’s for the kids and I will a honest opinion out of it!??? I’ll give it some serious thought..

Thanks for bringing it to my attention.. I think ??

P.S.
Hope you get over your cold .. Being sick sucks…

my wife is going to use this as part of her marketing thesis (for college) when she makes the site bad ass, nothing to do with you or it (greed wise), but it will be published in a ...they were all going to be explicatives.. is liberal a 4 letter word

FireWire79 01.19.2009 04:22 PM

I wish I had gotten the color codes before I spent about two hours editing and proof reading. If you could TDC57, get me an e-mail address via PM so that I can send you some of the changes that I made as attachments.

Most of the stuff I just changed, but you should be able to notice the difference. Most of the big changes are in red so you cant miss them. I did do a little re-wording in order to make it easier to read.

I look forward to getting your PM. And by they way, I did make some changes to the "Welcome" page. You had some really great facts about poverty and handicapped people that needed to be right up front to grab people's attention so that they read the rest of the page.

lincpimp 01.19.2009 05:47 PM

Hey Shaun, the chairs look great. I can only see one thing you may need to include: brakes... Most chairs have some sort of brake, mainly to stop people like Harold "accidentally" falling asleep and running over pets, small children, bums, etc...

jayjay283 01.19.2009 05:55 PM

on that note, youve seen the bum bashing videos all those kids went to jail for ? My wife is going to start a scare the Indian website after her hilarious jaunt at getting some software key back today. Never heard a man piss himself on the phone before

jayjay283 01.19.2009 07:45 PM

ok Man heres version 1 dont get pissed if you hate it anyhting can be changed, we know where to go from here by you all calling me a something or other,..Also my wife changed the name, its just temporary, she thought 3rd world was derogatory being Rican and all LOL ANYTHING can be changed in 10 seconds, ok a hour, Version 1 version 2 3 4 5 6 7 anytime. Let me know fonts formats pics etc easily changed now that the main code is down

FireWire79 01.19.2009 08:03 PM

I like the new name. "Wheels for the World" its catchy.

I think the background of the page is a little to busy, kind of distracting to the eye.

Some of the text changes are good. Some still need to be addressed, but no big deal.

I like the changing of 3rd world to developing countries, sounds nicer.

Any thoughts on the "end-user", I thought it sounded cold, or distant maybe, which is not good for a humanitarian effort. I think something like user, occupant, or something else along those lines will be OK.

jayjay283 01.19.2009 08:08 PM

is end user still in there ? tried to get it out, sounded too I dunno computer guy ...

1. think the background is a bit much, Its tame for what we usually do but I hear ya, the fliping and spinning may be a tad high. point taken

2.Help me address the text, as I said V1, I saw it said off tires not off road, in there, its all easily fixed and I need help

FireWire79 01.19.2009 08:14 PM

no prob, most of the stuff I tried to address in the changes that I sent you earlier. I may have missed the off tires thing. thats funny.

i'll get v2 to you tomorrow some time, as I got to leave for work at 0500.

JAYJAY you are the man. That looks awesome. I like the very modern technology useage. Personally I like the whole busy theme. It is a little destracting at first, but that would make me want to look at it over and over again trying to take it all in. I love it. Nice job.

TDC57 01.20.2009 03:17 AM

Comments posted for new site!.. WOW it's looks killer!

WOW… That's so much better!.. Jay your wife did a great job!..

Can we please look at making the following adjustments (?)

Front flash / Intro!.. Fricken awesome!.. :surprised: she is a flash master!...
First and foremost (wheels for the world) is great I wish I would have thought of it! but sadly it’s already been taken by another company…So we’ll need to change the name back to wheelchairdesigns (sorry).. buddy but I don’t want to get sued

During the flash intro before the main screen comes up can we slow it down, it way to fast (but cool / great idea) :intello: then if possible can we add a wheelchair design to it. The existing circle would be great for the wheels that way we just need to add the rest (see pathetic picture below / I'll email you) maybe even adding the name into the design lines if that makes sense ?? (wheel) down / back line, (chair) butt line (designs) leg lines.. again I would love to use Wheels for the world but it’s someone else’s domain.. sorry!..

During the later part of the flash the screen turns grey (solid gray) then it fades into the main webpage. Can we get rid of the gray page ??

Main screen page: looks great and defiantly on the rite patch, here are my suggestions:

Top of the page:
The globe needs to be frozen once it's up, the continues movements distracts the eyes (make the page look to busy).. can also get the left side of the world rounded off like the right side is (nice an smooth). Then move the globe to the top left of the page, the layer above the globe resized accordingly. The name need to go over the far right with a 1-2 offset from the right hand side of the page. The spinning two circles are way cool and I would love to have the opportunity to add a wheelchair there to finish off the design..(check your email for the idea / picture i'm thinking) also the far right is showing a cut off section of a map (can we lose that?)

Middle of the page:
I love the idea of the pictures there as they are represented in grey along wiht the offsetting, verry nice!.. I’m amusing that when a mouse button pass over it they will blow up to what 6x6 photos??. very cool and great touch. I think we only want to show off 3-5 pictures there and I don’t think any of them should be rectangle in shape, lets keep it simple and have it just like it is but only using 5 square boxes for pictures..

Bottom of the page.
The dialog box on the left needs to go, can we put the print in the main page (without layers) and use a scroll function. I’m thinking that once the globe is moved up to the top left we will have gained about 2-4" of word space (if that makes sense??) I feel more text needs to be shown and it should be in the page not on top of it..

I was also thinking that tab box (on the right) can be re centered to the middle right side of the page inlue of against right border..

The footer is COOL… Nice touch!.. can we move the words / phrase to the middle of the page, as for the home tab (house) it not really recognizable can we change it to another house?. The mail box tab is also a nice touch but it should be turned sideways so you can see it’s a mailbox..then can we move them both from the footer and have them in the bottom right side 1” above the footer and about 3-4” below the bottom right of the tab boxe.. hope that makes sense?

Navigating from page to page:
The one thing here is I would like to have the pictures on the main screen change per area ie. Front page with it’s own set of pictures, our product with it’s own set of pictures, etc….

Overall Just fantastic work!.. I’m extremely happy with it and feel that we are defiantly on the rite path / she’s got GREAT vision!.. kudos to the WIFE… :yipi:

If she needs to please note that she is more than welcome to call me anytime to discuss these comments.. you’ve got my cell number!..

Thank you again Sir.. it will be fricken awesome!... I’ll be very proud of the site!.. and it surly guarantee success for the chair. OUTSTANDING JOB..
Please thank you wife for me!..

Thanks agian Sir

Shaun.
