Thank you, And with these dimensions I can now say the slipperential will work in my D8 with less than 1.5mm shimming to the carrier bearings and a little mod to the top plate and may need to use the D8T shims under the diff mount. It has now moved to near the top of my "must have" list:yipi:
Again thanks Mike

RC-Monster Mike 11.28.2009 01:28 AM

I actually made a custom aluminum top plate for the D8 to allow use of the Slipperential. I also made a custom radio box and battery tray for a complete conversion - as soon as I can get a few through production, I will list them in the store.

The top plate isn't shown, but it looks just like the one on my RC8 conversion(but thicker to capture the bosses on the D8 CD bulks). :)

WOW, very cool stuff Mike! I will definitely want the receiver box and servo mount:yes:

Urgeoner 12.28.2009 12:47 AM

so no slipperential for CEN Matrix TR? Or Losi Muggy?

RC-Monster Mike 12.29.2009 01:58 PM

It should fit either vehicle with minor shimming required for the CEN at least - may not need shims for the Muggy unless using the 52t spur. :)

Urgeoner 12.30.2009 01:07 AM

ok thank Mike...may buy one in near future :)

rchippie 01.05.2010 09:09 PM

Mike how would you slipperential do in a hotbodies VE8 with mechanical brakes ?.

RC-Monster Mike 01.05.2010 10:25 PM

I will hopefully let you know really soon. :)

FastXR 01.06.2010 08:46 AM

Will it work with out the brakes as well? I know the Ve8 uses a goofy offset spur...

georgec 03.26.2010 05:20 PM

I can happily state that the slipperential fits the D8 with minimal modifications. It took quite a few diff shims, the bulk of witch I placed at the front to minimize the forward movement of the spur gear that cut down on the amount I had to grind the chassis plate to accommodate the gear and thrust bearing. It also required a little dremel work to the diff top brace.
There isn't a race this weekend so I won't post a review until Monday a week. Anyway here's a couple of pics.

Drops right into the diff/motor mounts on the Caster F8T truggy. Mods required are moving the battery trays slightly rearward and adding a little clearance on the diff mount top plate.

jas1n 04.27.2010 03:23 PM

Has anyone installed this on a monster gt for brushless conversion>?

simplechamp 05.04.2010 04:44 PM

Just dropped the Slipperential into my Jammin X1. Someone asked before how much space needed to me shimmed up; I used about 1.8-2mm of shims on each side, so about 3.6-4mm total.

Had to shim the slipper plate side away from the motor mount by .25mm (1 shim) and its fine, the slipperential is about 1mm longer than the losi diff so there was a tiny bit of strain on the front mount, it doesnt make it bind or anything, so it should be fine. Spring for the hardened steel front plate losi guys! for the extreme front driveshaft angle, the steel plate will wear less than the aluminum plate.

Had some difficulties getting the slipper pads in, I had to dremel 2 of the 3 to sit correctly in the spur gear. No big deal. Works great and softens the initial hit of my sensorless MMM system. Paired with a brand new Rc-monster Pinion, this sucker is quiet!! It only is slightly loud under braking, Probably because the gears need to be broken in.. Race testing Tommorow!

Bottom Line:
Amazing product
Near perfect fit and finish
9.5/10

Yes it will fit the D8T.
Here's what it looks like installed with a Kyosho motor mount.

And here with a RCM motor mount.

Umm...Why? Is this not like running two clutches?

RC-Monster Mike 07.14.2010 05:04 PM

Running it in a nitro is not unheard of, actually - there will be two clutches, but the Slipperential diff can be adjusted in the vehicle quickly trackside, while a nitro clutch must be dis-assembled to make adjustments.

Does this work in Durango DNX408? Any mod. necessary?
I am planning to convert DNX408 into brushless version with my lhs. conversion kit.
By the way, still I am looking forward to RCM conversion kit. I hope it is coming soon.

RC-Monster Mike 07.05.2011 10:07 AM

Not sure on the Durango fitment - never had one in my posession to make the call. most likely, the Slipperential will fit, though.

Gallagher 07.22.2011 09:50 PM

Slipperiential requires 1mm to 1.1mm shim to fit in DNX408.
Bearings should be replaced with 8*14 mm flanged bearings which come with DNX408.
After that you are good to go.

O'Donnell

I've seen the question asked, but no response. Would this work on the O'Donnell Z01T? Please let me know. Thank you.

RC-Monster Mike 11.17.2012 11:16 AM

Yes, it will fit the O'Donnell buggy and truggy - it will require some shimming, as it is physically shorter between the bearings.

Yea it works great in the D8T and D8. You will have to shim the bearings quite a bit but that doesn't change how well it works.
