Thank You Brian, your kind words have ben very much appreciated
Did you ever convert your 10-T to a buggy ? I found a a pretty nice body when I had mine, It's yours if you pay for shipping ? It has a few scuffs and some decals on it but it's 100% intact, Heres a pic http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...cbodies001.jpg |
Ben busy the last week when I had spare time, Installed LOTS of LED's and got the stacks painted and installed. I'm running the LED's off a switches in a "control panel" I made and all is powered with a small axillary 1000mah Thunder Power 2s Lipo.
I also have added 21oz to the wheels because when I raised the cab the 1/4" I haven't ben happy with how the COG was compromised, this should more than bring it back to where it needs to be. I also added a lot of brass work, the roll cage for the bed was a ton of fun to make and made it in such a way I can carry a couple of spare tires without needing anything to secure them. They just wedge in between the bars and go no where. I also made a window on the winch box cover so I can peek at the spool without having to remove the entire cover. Heres a short video showing the caution lights while towing/recovering a truck and actuation of the towing device. You Tube Videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVEx_0KG7e0 Tow bar can be stored on the bed via a couple body clips when not in use http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly002.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly003.jpg The new brass work on the bed, I'm trying to be humble but I'm pretty proud of this. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly004.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly005.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...andpics004.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...andpics002.jpg |
More Pics !
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly014.jpg Not that the cooling is needed due to the super efficent set up, I just thought since I had the fans why the hell not ? I have one sucking clean air in and the other exhausting warm out and both are on the same switch right on the door so they can be utilized when ever the need is felt. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly015.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly020.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly021.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly023.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly026.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly027.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly008.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly004.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssembly005.jpg |

|

Here's one more pic of bondoballs toy- http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...te_brite_1.jpg |
I figured out how to ditch the OLYMPUS CAMERA thingie, hope you liked ?
The Lite Bright was cute thanks |
Lots of nice intricate work there bondo.
Where do you get all your brass from? |
The brass is K&S products from the LHS.
|
She must be getting hefty - You know brass is denser than steel!
|
18lbs and still plenty of motor, has great traction with the weight.
I compared the brass with steel tubing and etc and the brass was the same weight or lighter, I wanted to use the brass so I could do all the work in the hobby room verses out in the shed welding and grinding in the Florida heat. I just hope it hurrys up and tarnishes, I hate the bright gold look when it's new looking. Once it's good and tarnished it should look weathered and aged. |
Micro mark has some weathering and tarnishing products that will speed that up for you.
I have used it on my trains, works well. |
Thanks for the idea Tex, I had no clue such a product was availible ??
I bought a 8oz bottle of Brass Darkener on Fleabay for $10.00 shipped, the reviews for the product were very favorable. |
It's pretty cool what all is available to weather things with. The RR crowd has it down to a science. If that isn't good enough for you electroplating works real well too.
http://www.micromark.com/plating-and-etching.html and some weathering products: http://www.micromark.com/weathering.html |
I was watching Trucks TV on Spike and they were talking about this same thing. How to make Copper plating look older. They recommended using Miracle Grow African Violet in liquid form and this will give you the aged look your looking for.
Here is a link, it's at the end of the show. http://www.spike.com/full-episodes/1...eason-2-ep-234 Truck looks great, keep up the good work. Nick |
Hey thanks guys
The stuff I bought on ebay is the same as what Micromark carries, BTW what a great website it is. |
One suggestion from me on paint job: air brush a little black "soot" trailing back from the stacks? Would make it look like you've been burning a lot of Diesel. Might just make it look bad too....
I like the LEDs, never can have enough of those!! Would love to see this thing rolling in person. Looks awesome. |
Thanks Brain, I'll keep the soot in mind if I ever get a smoker.
Look what I scored late last night, It is used but got it for $80.00 shipped http://www.modelsolutions.ca/catalog_sound_systems.htm |
Run it at the max (106db). You'll make some good friends!
|
Time for a revamp, the cab is for sale if anyone is interested ?
The main purpose of the rebuild to make a hauler for a scaler and make the truck a bit more capable and a little lighter for better COG. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...uration009.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...uration017.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...uration012.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...uration006.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...uration010.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...uration014.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...uration013.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...uration019.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...uration020.jpg |

I like the look of that cab! That's gonna be a good looking rescue rig.
|
nice painting man!
|
Wha?! Your selling the cab? Does it come with the coneheads:rofl:
What do you mean by make it more capable, Bondo? Will it have a trailer? Who's gonna drive it, Charlie Sheen's corpse or the pointy heads? Going by the looks of those pics, are you going to have a remote operated fliptop lid? To me it seems like you have a lot of spare time up your sleeve, have you thought about taking up a hobby?:na: |
Sold the cab for $290.00 and sold all the brass for $125.00
My intention was to make a hauler out of it and just make it lighter with better COG for when I wheelin' it. The old cab weighed 3.7lbs and just killed the COG, no it's awesome. Drove it today and it climbed like crazy and couldn't be happier with it now. No remote operation for the lid, just a cabinet hinge. Yes, I have a lot of spare time and wouldn't change a thing. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps8825f11f.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps7f67d261.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps7e42b058.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps706549d4.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...psf7ecd901.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps217bde91.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps0defab4d.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps5ae7c3da.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ps356193ca.jpg |
