You are lucky. Too bad you don't have a Mr. C kit . I can wait a few months.

Post some pics when you get it installed. It should look awesome.

:yipi:its here:yipi:

the only thing i didnt think of is that the can is bigger then my old motor so for now i can only go down to a 15 tooth pinion with my mech. brakes

ill try to run it tonight

***also i just updated to castlelink v 3.051 so i hope there is no cogging

Please report back...

First Test

ok i got it in and it was geared 15/46

lipo lvc set at 12.8v, punch @ 60% and all settings were on low/lowest

almost zero cogging:yipi:

After 15 min of hard speed runs(5 min) and bashing(10 min) temps were as follows...........

Mamba Max with holes in case, fan, novak cap = 110*f
Max Amps 4s 5k lipos = 115*f
Center Diff 30k = 145*f
Tekno Neu 1515 1y/f = 145*f

i feel that the gearing would be about right if i had a higher "C" battery, maybe a 16t for tracks with longer straights

i am very`happy with the results and cant wait till i get a better battery for this

Thanks for the post...

Did you hit the LVC?

I don't recall what motor you had in the XT8 before but I wonder how this one compares to whatever you had before?

Thanks man, I'm living vicariously through you for a little while here...I did order one (thanks Daniel) but as you said, you got the last 1y...

entjoles 05.15.2008 08:47 PM

i did hit the lvc, and i had a 9xl before, the run times are about the same but the motor runs much cooler

also the thing i find funny is the motor and box had a manf. date of 5/9/08 so its only a few days old:lol:

entjoles 05.15.2008 09:01 PM

now i have a ????????????????

do i need to gear up to reduce motor temp????????

thanks

See this (excellent) post:

It sounds however like everything is running in the warm or normal range. Maybe batteries are a tad too warm.

lutach 05.15.2008 09:25 PM

I think 115F for the battery seems ok. If they get up to the 130-140 region, then I would be concerned.

entjoles 05.17.2008 09:32 PM

i just ran today on 5s , same set-up as above but i switched to 50% punch control and a lvc of 16.5v

15 min of good bashing and speed runs and i didnt hit the lvc yet

temps where..

mamba max..115*
motor..155*
center diff..165*
batterys..120*

i like this much better on 5s , so i will be getting a neu or a elite 25/30c battery soon and continue running the Mamba Max with fan till it fails or i can get a Monster Max

has anyone run these batterys yet? opinions....either the 25c 4800mah or the 30c 5300mah???

For that price, i would consider buying Neu energy packs. the size of the 5300; 188mm long! don't know if you've seen that?

entjoles 05.18.2008 08:21 AM

ill stick with the neu packs, i want to get the best pack for my $ , and i didnt notice the length

thanks
