Build Up
Got the truck in to this point. Tomorrow have to mount all the electrics + receiver mount.

That looks great. The annoying thing is I looked high & low for white shrink wrap suitable for covering my homebrew 6s A123 packs, but the closest I could get was clear, lol.
I not sure how you plan to hold the batts in place, but I opted to get another pair of gorillamaxx straps, so that I can synch the packs down into place basically, works really well. |
. Yes the packs are pretty stupid size, have to figure out how to safely secure 'em.. I have 2,4" dh bikes inner tube, thought using that somehow. Tomorrow we'll see. But have to think that double strap too, got any pics of it?
Edit: Nvm, looked to your topic, hehe. Quote:

Wiring
Okay, First of all I HATE SOLDERING, noticed that today when tryed to solder 4 wires to 1 dean
Here's the plan how I would do the wiring. Is there problems? Should I do something differently? <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/lvSUcmCRvmFknoLbCj4VTw"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/olbero/SOaLXOtsCnI/AAAAAAAAAlM/mpJczFBHYTU/s800/Wiring.JPG" /></a> |
So if the Gorilla Max fits a Revo will it work for a Slayer?
|
What the...
What exactly is that thing in the middle- an eagle tree? A proper wiring diagram might be easier to understand, but I think that all looks fine except the BEC. The plug from the BEC needs its own plug on it that goes into the batt/aux slot on the Rx. The rx lead from the esc needs to plug into the throttle channel slot, minus the red wire. |

Sorry for messy pic, yes its Eagle Tree V3. Didn't connect the receiver and bec for purpose..
I could also connect the batterys straight to the esc wires (two sets of wires) and I wouldn't need the extra harness lead + it would be easier to solder. But then the eagle tree will measure just one battery pack. Is it ok? |
Good question. I think you would need to have both packs running through the eagletree, otherwise it might create a slight bottle-neck and reduce the amount of amps that the connected pack could output, where as the other pack wouldnt be hindered. It looks perfectly clean and tidy with both packs going through the eagletree, so I wouldnt worry about it really.
|
Thanks, good point that bottle neck thing.

Did short testing today, not good. Huge gogging at startup. But when the tires are off the ground not so much.. It did the same thing with my emaxx with the same esc, could it be the esc or just bad solder? It just stutter when pulling a little of the trigger and the pinion go back and forth.
Pics, surprise surprise  <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/0m8c8tjlDRBJ8pQSK86nig"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHAL17CII/AAAAAAAAAnQ/pozvR3NNZt4/s400/IMG_0462.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/dpoJEt4jecuy5bFhtwIICg"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHAJ2zz0I/AAAAAAAAAlY/KwFNmH9r9W4/s400/IMG_0463.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/HMDfOf623IPFq87BFNjQWA"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHAV0PBjI/AAAAAAAAAnU/1Dr-XR3NFO0/s400/IMG_0464.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/SbCYPP1JeJK6NsHqt9CgnQ"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHAYx8X1I/AAAAAAAAAnY/paGBWRwRAK8/s400/IMG_0465.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/vDKeKxdlIMJU-doWFyhpbA"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHATAQ0rI/AAAAAAAAAnc/8ODqjwv3IGU/s400/IMG_0466.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/DuQSJ66ArWRmZ03T7r5ndA"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHPABi_7I/AAAAAAAAAl8/5PLjVLsnqsM/s400/IMG_0467.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/NfFzPGWaniLIl4DXlVDKQw"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHPj4ebtI/AAAAAAAAAng/zQVCDkJOtYM/s400/IMG_0468.jpg" /></a> <a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/223-vFZrR0DD9aVShDOrTg"><img src="http://lh4.ggpht.com/olbero/SOfHP35dBTI/AAAAAAAAAmM/nJMiPs8aW2o/s400/IMG_0469.jpg" /></a> |

What gearing are you running currently (that may have an effect on start-up cogging), and make certain the driveline is free and smooth.
Assuming all your solder joints are fine, leave out the eagletree and try running the batts directly to the esc, and see if that makes a difference. Im none too familiar with that esc, but you may have to tweak the settings on the radio and the programming options for start power to reduce the cogging effect. Good luck. |
Gearing is now 16/51 Only have 16,18 & 20 pinions and all spurs are 51t. Driveline is smooth just the spur is little oblique..
I did the test without Eagle Tree. Im quite sure its the solder joints, what's causing it, Im not good at soldering, hehe. How do I know when the solder joint is good ? 4 wires to 1 dean isn't piece of cake  |
