the spacer wont make the gear high enought. the buggy has no hole for the spur gear where the truggy the gear has a hole to mount it lower. why would you need a 54 tooth spur gear in the buggy. what are you trying to do with your setup

entjoles 10.11.2008 03:33 PM

its so i can run this asap :rules: and use the motor i have (hvmaxx 4.5 - 5000kv), i need the final drive ratio around 22:1 , so with 11/54 it will be good, and the speed calc. puts my speed at 40-41mph , 4s mmm and the 4.5 hv motor in a rc8 buggy

well i dont think the gear will fit due to no cutout on the buggy chassis

That's easy enough to fix though. Use a Sharpie to mark out on the chassis where the hole is needed, then drill holes in it with a regular drill bit about the right size, then use a cutoff wheel on a Dremel to cut it all out (there shouldn't be a whole lot if you drilled it right), then just clean it all up with a grinding bit on the Dremel. Take your time to do it right and it will come out nice and probably still only take 30-45 minutes.

Try the 44 or 46t kyosho nylon gear, with a 9t pinion and you will be better off.

well after the last outdoor race of the season i will be doing some modding to the truggy. so i will try to keep everyone as updated as possible

Daytona675 10.20.2008 04:24 PM

Body looks great. I saw earlier you were going to pick up a motor mount, did you ever get this? I am slowing starting a rc8t build and I ordered the mount and the servo tray looks completely different? looks like it will allow the lay down for lower cog. again body looks bad ass:yipi:cograts.
