Snoopmaxx

Hey Snoop you look so young in that upper photo. Kind of hard to reach the table yea? Nice looking work on your sand truck. Seeing such individuality is unusual these days with so many RTR kits. Keep up the good work and have fun with it.

SnoopMaxx 07.06.2009 10:57 AM

Thanks Jerry
I like making custom parts :intello:

Ooh that's my daughter wrenching on "her" truck
I'm holding the camera

I have a few project's that I plan to build in
the near future

A BL 1/8th Formula Offroad based on a Truggy
A BL Short Course with a SC8 body and custom chassis
A Wheely King with Jug2 axles (85% done)

Kcaz25 07.06.2009 11:28 AM

Yea I've been seeing the wheely King stuff in your photobucket cool stuff!

SnoopMaxx 07.06.2009 04:51 PM

It's more like 2 WK's I rebuild and modified it till there was only the axle housings left
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z...x/HPIM2238.jpg

Then I looked at all the stock parts laying around and decided that it would be cool to have an extra WK that the kid's can play with

nice project

snoop, i like what you are doing to that old e-maxx,
i to have a 3906 brushless project on the go, but i put mine in the project x for some reason, might have been under the influence at the time  .
like the roll cage idea, i too made a welded steel roll cage around 4 years ago to sit under the hummer body (proline).
my son drove the truck at full speed into the rear axle on my transit and i must admit the cage was a write off but the internals were untouched.
thinking this time i may try a carbon fibre roll cage with c/f body panels, so its all one piece. hmmm ....

SnoopMaxx 07.12.2009 05:27 PM

Thanks chrismechanic
I was out earlier today bashing my Maxx and it runs great with my 4K nimh batt's but I an waiting on a Novak 4s LVC from ModelsportUK so I can use my new 2s1p 3000mah LiPo's

Do you shop at ModelsportUK ?
or are there a good rc shop near you ?

chrismechanic 07.13.2009 04:25 AM

hi snoop/all...i ran my truck sunday afternoon down the foresty bit on the end of the park, a five minute walk from home, went ok, popped a front shock and bent the drive shaft after a bad landing.
there is a model shop around 40 mins drive from home but i get parts from all over, my mm combo came from a main hobbies as was best price around.
i usually make any parts that can be fabricated at home.
are u still running the 775 titan in your maxx?
you will really smile whe u get lipo power in your maxx.
and smile even more when you go over to brushless.
lipos are 100% improvment over nmhi, i run 5s on my maxx and is blistering:yes:, also get a longer run time, i get around 45-50 mins.
whats an lvc? speed controller?
talk soon byee all...

It's a LiPo Cut-Off

Novak 4s Smart-Stop Li-Po Cut-Off
Protect Your Li-Po Battery Investment

Now users of all models and brands of ESCs can appreciate and enjoy the advantages of Lithium Polymer (Li-Po) battery packs without the fear of damaging the cells. The Smart-Stop Li-Po Cut-Off Module will monitor your Li-Po battery pack voltage and prevent the batteries from going below the critical safety voltage level. This is achieved using a combination of throttle interruption and a visual cue from the included ultra-bright blue LED. The Smart-Stop Modules are available for 2-cell (#5470), 3-cell (#5472), or 4-cell (#5471) Li-Po battery packs and can be used with any brand brushed or brushless speed control for car, boat, or air applications.

For racers and bashers alike, the Smart-Stop Module will prevent your vehicle from draining your Li-Po packs below their safety level. The Smart-Stop Module connects between the receiver and speed control, and is easily set up with a One-Touch Set-Up button to learn the ESC’s settings for accurate and complete control. The Smart-Stop Module will interrupt the ESC’s throttle operation with short periods of throttle blipping. This is a warning that the Li-Po battery voltage safety level is approaching, giving the user a chance to bring in the vehicle. In addition, the remotely-mounted, ultra-bright blue LED will begin to flash, giving a clear visual cue that it is time to stop the vehicle. If the vehicle is run beyond this warning period, the Smart-Stop Module will bring the motor to neutral while leaving full steering servo control.

Nice! I like how they etched "Novak Racing" into the board.

lvc

hi snoop/all...oh i see, ive never needed one, mm combo has built in lvc :yipi: plus i run 5s & 6s so it would be useless
snoop i just visited your web site, great vids, do u run the rear diff lock in your maxx? if not u need to fit one.
much better for climbing, truck is much less likely to get bogged down. see ya'll

SnoopMaxx 07.16.2009 04:57 AM

I just got home from a 2 day trip with my kid's to Legoland and my Novak LVC was waiting for me
And I know where all the wires go now :rules:
I thought that the Novak LVC had a balancing harness a my 2s LVC do

So I need to wire everything up and make sure my LiPo's are fully charged
and .........................

Yes I do, and I got a bottle of 60,000wt diff oil for the front, just haven't had "time" to put it in
I also have a spare diff with a spool :intello:

chrismechanic 07.16.2009 07:07 PM

leaky diffs

3 Attachment(s)
hi snoop/all...as we have good weather over here atm i took truck for a test run today at a construction site and found this Attachment 7435 ohh great for climbing shame ive got no rims for my paddles atm.
here is latest picture of truck sporting proline mk1 hummer body and now have ultra hard inserts on the standard tyres and what a difference, no more ballooning :yipi: . so heres before.. Attachment 7436
and after Attachment 7437
as you can see i had a good time and my mate who ran his xtm monster nitro thing had a slight problem, he opened his throttle and servo gave up at full bore  so hes only got steering and he was trying to catch the truck  much to my amusment.
snoop ive tryed running with thick oil in front diff but it seems to just puke it all out within a few runs. you have same problem? i think a seal would cure it like a savage diff with an o ring.
good luck with the lipos byee

SnoopMaxx 07.17.2009 02:30 PM

That Maxx looks great :yipi:
I only have one set of beadlock wheels and changing tires is not that hard
I used marine silicone glue in my rear diff, I haven't tried the 60.000wt diff oil in the front yet
But a O-ring sealed diff is the best bet I got as well and
I plan on replacing my diff's with LST diff housings and 1/8 diff's if my stock Maxx diff's blow again

chrismechanic 07.20.2009 04:19 PM

bulkheads

hi snoop/all...thanks snoop, your maxx is sweet too (be sweeter with brushless). what made you choose the lst housings over the hybrid bulks here in monsters shop?.
60.000wt is better but if u mainly run off road maybe 150,000 is more your thing, had it in both diffs on my savage and it was still streering ok on tarmac, but off road was great no more one wheel spining, was like tru l.s.d.
you have o ring in your diffs? i aint on my 3906 :oh:. like shaft is 5.96 mm and diff gear hole is 6.10  quality. it wont hold oil so i just got grease in there till i sort it ( so loads of front wheel spin).
see ya soon all
