I run 10mins heats n 30min mains no problem with my 4s 5000 zippy. How long r ur race n wat car r u using?

i run between 10 and 30 min too... do you notice better run times with the medusa then the feigao?
what medusa should i use in a e-revo?
i was thinking the 36-60- 2000 or 2200kv one... os good choice?

Run time will depend on the amp draw of the motor, weight, gearing n batt capacity. medusa runs cooler n last longer as the magnets n bearings are much better.

I will suggest 70mm rather than 60mm as it's stronger n able to run d truck with less effort. What batts are u running for ur race? That will determine wat motor u shld use.

I used to run 2000kv in heats then main change to 1600 but I found it too tiring. So I use 1600 now throughout n change gearing.

Heats I use 16Pinion with 4s 5000 n main I use 11pinion on 6s 5000 with 1 batt change

ERevo has 2 batt it will b slower to change batt so in main u must use high capacity batt n lower d gearing so the esc n motor will run cooler unless it's winter in your county.

Make sure ur packs are of the same age as in series d older/weaker pack will discharge faster leaving it overdischarge.

Wat batts u hv now n gearing? Is this ur first race?

I m very happy with hobbywing after sales service, I was attended by a engineer named Jack. Not only he replied to all my emails for my damaged esc, switch n motor.

I got them all bnew wo any freight charge by DHL damn this is what I call service:)

i use 2s 2sp a123 4600mah batteries in serie and 7.4v lipo 8000mah 10c in serie too..
these last ones are weak in discharge force and heat a lot, the a123 are powerful and discharge is great too!!
i have to invest in more a123 or lipo, but since a few days ago one batterie explod right in front of my eyes maybe i will go to a123 again..
i will buy the neu or medusa or a new hobbywing complete combo, and in these case i stay with a spare esc.

thank´s and regards

Thanks

At first he replyed daily, asked for pictures of burnt unit, but since I've sent them I never got a reply.
Hope he didnt broke his keyboard :)
Now I have 2 ezrun bricks and a powerless RC8.
Did any of you guys got a replacement from HW?

nusti 05.11.2009 05:50 PM

I got my motor replaced. It had a broken magnet. sent a photo of it and they sent me a new motor. It cost me the shipping.

Any idea if the 3674 2350Kv ezrun motors are 2 or 4 poles?

What about the KD36 range of brushless motors? Are they 4 poles motors?

Oh and the KB45 brushless motors? Any idea if they are 2 or 4 poles motors?

Hi, but somewhere on the net I've seen a pic of a 2350kv (ezrun motor) with some sort of carbon wrapping around the magnets. Did I see wrongly?

What about the 44mm diameter ezrun motor? is it a 2 pole as well?

Yes it's all 2 pole, 4 pole will b neu n medusa

lincpimp 05.11.2009 09:54 PM

The KB 45 motors are also 2 pole!

I want a look inside the HW motors myself. My buddy wants a budget buffy system, so he may get the HW80 and one of the motors, probably the longer model, should handle the heat better?
