Whats that got to do with the switch though- if you forget to turn the switch off after removng the batts, next time you plug the batts in (without turning the radio on first since due to old age you forgot?) the model would still turn into a run away regardless of there being a switch or not...

Rule #1 in the R/C world is to turn the radio on first, and off last, every time. Funny thing is though I swear the MMM has a built in failsafe of sorts anyway- if I turn the tx off and leave the batts plugged in & esc turned on, the esc leds go to a different color, to indictate 'no signal' and returned the throttle to neutral.

So, switch not required in that sense....

With no signal the esc flashes all three leds and beeps really fast.. or you can just get a dsm receiver which has a failsafe built in. works like a charm

Bump..

Castle randomly emailed me a survey asking if they should change the switches... I voted yes even if it increases the price tag on their units, and wrote in how quickly my switch failed.

I got that survey too. Voted 'Yes' to a higher quality switch.

Mine always lets out a big spark, I just figured it was normal

Your switch sparks?? It shouldn't.

nitrostarter 05.28.2009 01:26 PM

I only get sparks when connecting batteries....

I meant when connecting the batteries.

I vote yes a nice mini deans style jumper would be great.

InsaneRC 06.06.2009 07:15 PM

Can i Change my vote for yes??

this what happen to my switch the sitch came completey off!! so i had no switch!! and just 2 small wires coming from the circuit board!! Lucky for me some 1 repaired it and soldered the switch right back on the circuit board and it Work!!

So my Vote would have to be YES!!

ethier have the switch be mounted to the ESC like a tab or something like the AE-1 Esc or just have the switch located on the side or no switch @ ALL!!

WOW! So I was out running today. I just installed my M11 and spektrum reciever. I went to the track and I started making laps. Then all of a sudden, it started getting glitchy. It was acting as if the power was being shut on and off. I check it out. I had tried to rebind my Tx/Rx, same problems. All my parameters and ESC setting were fine. But it still glitched. Finnaly a thought came to mind, check the switch. I messed with it, and then cut it off and twisted the wires together, and sure enough, everything was fine after that. I'm sure glad it happened like that when I was practicing and not in a race... I would have been aggrivated. So I'll either solder on a new switch like I did my other MMM or just solder the wires together and not use a switch.
