Lookin' monstrously good man! I've got both a converted Muggy and XXL with oversized wheels/tires which are both indestructable but don't look as beefy as your ride does. What body are you going to cap it off with?

IrishChamp 05.20.2012 10:06 PM

That is an excellent question, :) I haven't decided on a body, Probablly
A Redcat Rampage body or something similar.
I have high hopes that this is a tough rig, we shall see, if I ever get it done.

It's been a while but I finally have a little time and I'm almost done. Just giving it a once over, running the wires, securing and programming electronics etc. I also still need to get a body but it's almost driveable!!
I'll post pictures soon and then some video.

1/16th, 1/10th and the Nemesis XL.

I can't believe I did something so dumb, I managed to apply reverse polarity to the kontronik 120hv while situating everything, the leads just tapped each other for a microsecond. So smoke from the esc or battery, but the esc is flashing the reverse polarity code. Word is kontronic won't fix it and they may or may not offer me any deal worth having. Supposedly it is fixable though by someone with the necessary expertise.
Hopefully I can find someone to repair this paperweight.

More pictures. I'm not loving the body but its not bad, I'd like to find something unique but for now this was easy and looks like it will fit nice. I just have to make body post holes and walah!

My bad luck continues. I installed the kontronik 55-10-32, programmed it, tested it with the motor gear mesh seperated, went out to for a test drive; when I hooked everything up it powered up normal then as I was installing the body te iroytle glitched just a tiny bit and poof, smoke.
Now I have two dead esc's!?!?!!!!
Grrrrrrr.
Anyway, all I have to do is mess with it on the bench so here are a few more pictures with different configurations.

Finally got to drive it, only for a few minutes, right as I was getting ready to take a quick video the steering broke, completely random but an easy fix, no video though. I need to adjust the suspension I think, it felt very unstable under hard acceleration, like the torque was twisting it and making it pull to the side.

RTR Weight w/ big joe tires & 10s 4000mah = exactly 19 lbs. not too bad I think, although its not light when you're carying it around. :)
It will be a lb or so heavier with the gst wheels I think.

Currently geared for 48mph, 55mph w/ tire ballooning.

Motor and esc (schulze 40.160) seemed to stay cool during the limited test.

Funny you say the truck pulls around under power my 6x6 genesis does the same thing my motor is up front and the truck pulls left under power. I have gone through the suspension but it only does it under full power. My truck weighs is at 22 pounds with a 1717 on 6S. Thinking of trying a gryo to stabilize the truck

IrishChamp 09.25.2012 03:51 PM

6x6!?!? Nice
Keep me posted on how the gyro works, interesting idea.
I firmed up the springs a little and in the back yard it seemed a little better.

How's your drivetrain hold up to 22lbs of truck, have you had any issues?
I'm hoping this will be a worry free truck.

Very cool!
I shimmed my diffs nice and snug for extra insurance. Do you have any video?
