I suspect that you could get there if you were only gearing it for speed runs. I'm guessing that the reason the new traxxas stuff doesnt come geared like that right out of the box is cuz it wont run like that constantly either. Speed runs are entertaining, but you certainly cant set them up to run that all the time.

I agree with the others that Novak products are for the most part too high KV. This new traxxas motor looks interesting too me because it is only 3400kv which is right on par with what I've found actually works well on a 2 or 3 cell pede. Traxxas's first brushless and already they got the KV correct right out of the gate. I think this says alot for Traxxas. In fact.....I'd say they are the first one's to actually get the KV even close too correct on a RTR RC. I would like to buy one of these motors and try running it with my MambaMax ESC. Lower KV motors with 1/8th shafts are rare as gold these days. This might turn out to be the perfect motor for rusty/pede regardless of which speed controller you are using.

Is traxxas going to finally ship the pede with wheel bearings? I don't see how they can run brushless and keep the bushings.

You mean to tell me they use bushings in the Pede!? :020: :032:

Yup and to add to the cold front through hades, they will be 5x11, No more RPM upgrades needed

Nice. The only bad thing I can see in all of this is that all of our custom brushless pedes and rustys are now worth half of whatever they were worth a week ago LOL. OH well. Just glad to see Traxxas kicking butt on the brushless side of things.

Same thing will happen to the E-Maxx and converted Revos if/when they release new electric versions.

You're right. It will be good for the hobby as a whole but some of use will take a big hit in value......however, if we keep our stuuf and keep running it it won't really matter!

FYI...tower has updated prices on the VXL vehicles now:

LXSDB5** Traxxas Bandit VXL RTR 324.99
LXSDB6** Traxxas Stampede VXL RTR 339.99
LXSDB7** Traxxas Rustler VXL RTR 329.99

Serum 05.29.2007 12:37 PM

NOT bad priced IMO!!

quite a nice price indeed.....!

Procharged5.0 05.29.2007 12:41 PM

The prices are fantastic in my opinion!

Consider the cost of buying the standard one and upgrading to a Mamba maxx! Not to mention all the other upgrades Traxxas throws in!

skellyo 05.29.2007 12:42 PM

Yeah, at that price, I'm probably going to pre-order one while I have a $30 off coupon code. Then if I get a better coupon code in before they come in stock, I'll cancel and reorder it. :D

skellyo 05.29.2007 12:49 PM

Yep, couldn't resist. Just pre-ordered a VXL Rustler with a final price of $299.99 shipped. :D

hyperasus 05.29.2007 01:27 PM

I'm tempted as well. 5x11 bearings, brushless with lipo cutoff, outside of buying a spectrum, these things are truly ready to run. Of coarse, that is assuming these brushless systems run well. Only time will tell. I'm thinking I'll buy one, if I don't like it, then I can ebay it for $250 and call it a $50 lesson learned.

Procharged5.0 05.29.2007 01:29 PM

I think they will run well. Most products that come from Traxxas do, at least in my experience with the Revo 3.3, E-Maxx, T-Maxx, and Stampede.

I got a thunder tech chassis w/cage waiting on one
