Sharp eyes there DrKnow! I run a 13t pinion gear, one off the old emaxx input shaft, that I drilled and tapped for a set screw and hardened for use with the steel spur. It is geared for about 35mph, but is still very fun.

I can verify the mamba 25 with update will work with a Neu 1107 and no cogging. This was in a Mini Quake SE with 3s lipo and tall gearing

Heeeey, I have a few 1110's sitting around here..

How did you get around the 2.5mm mounting screws? Those little buggers are a pain to find.

Hmm, you reckon one of those 1110's would fit nicely in a MLST2?

used the ones that came with it, its seriously powerful in a mini. I think it could run a 1/10 stadium truck with no problem

My 1107 will not fit length wise, goes into the battery area too far, the 1110 would be longer

johnrobholmes 01.25.2008 01:29 AM

I always wanted to try the 1110 in a stadium buggy or on road car. That sucker would zip!

Do what I did: http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...2&postcount=12

If I had that Neu, I think my MLST would be nice and balanced.

After all these updates, I have been looking into a motor for a vendetta st on 2s. Do you guys think the neu 1105 1.5Y (6800Kv) geared slower would work with the m25? I have read it pulls a max of 40-60 amps. Maybe I should take a step down and do the 1105 2Y (5200Kv).

Well, I just got round to trying out this update in Cold Fusion (brushless Dagger), and it's a huge improvment IMO! I'm only using the standard 5700 motors, but the entire throttle range is much smoother now, as well as startup of course. Braking is also much smoother, and now seems to allow you to just hold light brake for as long as it takes for the vehicle to stop. I don't remember being able to do that with the old software. The whole drive is just seems more relaxed and sedate (almost brushed in feel)...until you open the taps.:diablo:

I know I'm just telling you lot what you already know, but just thought I'd spout my opinion. Good job Castle!

are you the crazy one that puts two mamba max 5700 in a tamiya?

its good to know anybodies opinion tbh as everybody's setup is different.

I have tested it with my hacker c40 8s and the control does seem improved somewhat but tbh it drove that motor very well anyways so the only thing i really notice in that setup is the change in the smoothness of the throttle control and the brakes.

take off when you goose it seems to be very reliable even with the ss5800 that i tested briefely.

But there is a new characteristic which i don't think is cogging but rather just a stammering of the rotor due to me trying to baby it off the line to see how smooth the motor is.
Its like the motor is not getting magnetised enough to jump to the next pole so it just goes back and forth untill you put enough trottle to power it past that step.

But i think i might be able to set the esc to start at a higher throttle at start using the graph feature making the esc have a higher minimum throttle point that's just enough to start the motor no matter how much you try to baby it.

ill try this out and get back on this:

Let me guess, you never beheld his truck, right?
Cold Fusion is not exactly just a Tamiya anymore!

Dagger Thrasher 01.28.2008 11:56 AM

Lol, yep that's me. They're in this thing:
Cold Fusion thread

Only difference is now that the chassis is carbon fibre and a few other minor tweaks that are shown later on in that thread. But yes, the MMs now run even better and smoother than before. Really pleased with the update.

It does that to a very, very minor extent in CF too...but it's barely noticeable. I have the start power on Medium though, so perhaps shoving the start power up to High (if you haven't already done it) would help.
