Joining the pieces:
Builders note:
I find it quite easy to build the E-Revo in 3 separate pieces and join them together in the end!, everything fits nice and easy this way..

Pity she can't stay longer, huh!!! My mom-in-law is not that good, however she always helps with yard projects and does not have any issues rolling up her sleves to get a job done. She painted most of the inside of my house and helped the wife with the bathroom tiling. All I had to do was install the a/c and level the house (and about 2 years worth of other "fun" jobs)!!!!

Have a great one Shaun, hope you can pass by when you are in town again!

shizzon 12.01.2008 03:04 AM

How are those traxxas cvd's holding up for you? Im interested in replacing the stock sliders as i seem to break them every time i run, but i have heard that some people have had issues with the traxxas cvd's (especially when combined with RPM arms).

the truck is looking awesome by the way!!!!

Thanks

JERRY2KONE 12.01.2008 05:40 AM

Huh???

Hell if things are that good when she is around, I would be setting up a permanent room for her. That sounds like a great way to keep the wife in line for good. I know what you mean though. My wife was born and raised in San Francisco, but her parents are both hard core filipina. Kind of the same culture in a lot of ways. Especially when it comes to how they treat their men. Nice going Shaun. Have a nice Christmas Sir.

Im trying to think of some good mother in law jokes, but none spring to mind...

Nice work dude, liking the polished motor alot.

Hardstyle 12.02.2008 08:53 AM

Dang, thats awesome. Need some sunglasses for watching those pics hehe.

Arct1k 12.02.2008 09:11 AM

Insane! Can i send you my cars for cleaning and polishing!

suicideneil 12.02.2008 05:35 PM

i had the same thought! :mdr:

Question though- what exactly are the polishing compounds you used, and what kinda polishing wheel is that (material?)? Gotta beat hand-polishing things at any rate...

Thanks for the compliments Shizzon,
I’ve bent my fair share of them, but I have never broken them!. I like them and for $54.00 they are defiantly worth it!.. I have broken 6 axel output shaft and have been told that if I used Traxxas stock one, I would break the stock plastic color instead I don’t know?!,

I still like them and they match the build so I'm keeping them..

Thanks for stopping by and I hope the ramble made sense?? LOL.LOL

I've seen your Builds Neil your are so clean you can eat off them (please!)

Cleaning compounds:

I start with steel wool 000
Then I use the cleaning wheel (white) on my 8' bench grinder with the following compounds:
Royobi "E" (For cleaning nickel & chrome, stainless steel, brass and copper)
or i use
Mibro #2 Cleaning compound for nickel & chrome, stainless steel, brass and copper

Then I change the pad to the orange (polishing wheel) and use the following compounds:
Royobi "H" for shining to a high gloss hard and soft metals
or
Mibro #6 High gloss polishing compound

then to top it off I'll use Mothers Billet Metal Polish.

So a quick re-cap:
• steel wool
• cleaning coumpound
• polishing compound
• final shine “Mothers” then
• Buff to a high blinding gloss…

It's 3-6 hrs of pure quality time with your RC!.. :intello:

P.S.
This usually works best after a few drinks!..

And you need like 30 cloth towels too

rabosi 12.02.2008 10:22 PM

MetalMan 12.02.2008 10:37 PM

TDC57 12.20.2008 06:13 AM

The mother in law is going GREAT,:yipi::yipi: and I wish she could stay longer!! :intello: The house has never been cleaner, fridge and pantry are stocked with food all of the clothes are being washed and foled, the dogs are being walked and fead!.. I'm telling you! The WIFE is hating life!, I'm sitting back LOVING IT!!:rofl:… It just doesn’t get any better Jordan.. hahahhahhahaaaa…

Have a great weekend Sir..

Gallagher 02.21.2009 09:06 AM

I have a G3R, too and I am going to switch the Gorilla center front shaft to the Traxxas shaft as you did. I hope you could help me.
What is the part number of the shaft (#5450?)?
I notice the Gorilla center front shaft is so close to the stock servo save mount; probably 2-3 mm apart. Doesn't the Traxxas hit the mount due to the larger diameter? How to solve the porblem? Thank you.

flo65 07.18.2009 04:08 AM

Hello,
did you had problems with your Traxxas CV Driveshafts?
they are strong?
Thanks

Bye

Arct1k 07.18.2009 08:53 AM

They are strong but still breakable - I keep a stock of shafts in and go through one every one in a while. The RPM arms are too flexible IMO to use with the CVD's

flo65 07.18.2009 09:04 AM

you advice for my FLM-Maxx ?
or MIP ? TSAIS ?

dartboi01 07.20.2009 02:49 PM

awesome revo but be careful of those cvd's i have busted 2 set's on my gorillamaxx emaxx watch out.

just wonder what you used to take the color away?

JERRY2KONE 09.17.2009 06:48 PM

Oven cleaner.

Most people just use Easy Off oven cleaner to remove the anodizing.
