tanks:wink:dont need to order....

SilentMonster 04.29.2008 06:06 AM

All brushless motors use 3 wires. Three wires from the ESC to the motor.

lol, my bad, big day at work

fyi
Sorry guys, Joe was misinformed. The MMM has a switching BEC, but NOT the same design as the Castle BEC. It is fixed 6.0V output, and isn't adjustable.

Sorry for the confusion!

Where did you get this from?

Patrick said that in rcgroups. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...17#post9659948

Thanks, just curious.

WHAT? 6V BEC? Very bad Information!

I hoped i can make the wire system more simple! (without cc bec for 7.4V)

One Big Point to MMM is lost. Bad joke.

:(

Electric Dave 04.30.2008 08:16 AM

Huh? 6v is the normal voltage for a BEC...actually it's perfect, many are a little lower than 6v...at 6v servos will perform perfectly.

tc3_racer_001 04.30.2008 08:20 AM

any more than 6v and they will fry wont they? i think 24kg for a steering servo is enough in a buggy anyway :P

Agreed. I don't see why 6v is a bad thing at all. Oh well, more MMM for the rest of us. :yipi:

Dagger Thrasher 04.30.2008 08:40 AM

Some of the very fast servos designed for touring etc are designed to be used at 5.0 - 5.5V if I remember rightly...but not many. And nobody's going to be using such servos in 1/8th or 1/10th MT applications anyway, so that's not a problem. 6.0V will be great for our servos. It's kind of a shame that it's not programmable like the CCBEC is, but it's no major loss IMO. If you need programmable voltage for whatever reason, just disable the onboard BEC and stick a CCBEC in there. :)

phatmonk 04.30.2008 08:24 PM

So what makes the MMM more powerful then the MM.More fets?more capacitors?cooling fan?all 3?

For $20 for a ccbec if you really want a different voltage I really don't think it is a big deal really.

I don't understand. You want a BEC that puts out 7.4v ? You want to fry your servo's and radio or what ?

The robotic servos operate on the higher voltage from what I have seen and there are a number of receivers which can run on the higher voltage as well. I think the new spektrum receivers can use the higher voltage but don't quote me on that.

titan 05.01.2008 03:30 AM

My react rx handle 9Volt and the Dymond DS 9900 like 4.8-7.4V too. (A race transponder hande 8V.)

Everybody cry to HV. But a HV Servo is a bad thing? ^^

Are you looking to my Emaxx wire system? I hoped, my next ESC need no ccbec like quark monster. It is a new top product for many years - it should be a feature of the time - integration.

My emaxx peaks 60Amps :>

Titan

PS: There is a timing option, which numbers the option means? The words do not help me. My lehner 1920 like 12° timing. Somebody know it? thx

sleebus.jones 05.01.2008 08:11 AM

It would be different if you could only get performance with >6v, but when you can get 200 oz-in with 6v, what more do you really need?

DRIFT_BUGGY 05.01.2008 05:10 PM

Did anyone else get a email saying that the MMM will be shipped 15 May from Castle?

83gt 05.01.2008 06:13 PM

Ahh C. Now it comes clear, :). I can see how it would be a nice option to be built in that way. I would see such a situation as an excellent opportunity to use a small 2s LiPo as an RX pack. Less clutter if it could be done from the ESC though, for sure.

sick... that means cheaper fans :)

and higher or lower airflow as required. that means u can probably take off the whole plasic outside and mount the fan without it...

BrianG 05.02.2008 05:54 PM

You mean post #14, right?

Oh, I didn't realize it was "add one" day.

Hilarious

Funny, I feel the exact same way. Kind of weird how this optomistic aura sets in with really no concrete evidence to support it.

johnrobholmes 05.02.2008 06:55 PM

Maybe. Maybe I ordered 75lbs worth.

Has anyone noticed the wheelie bar on the front of the E-maxx on the Monster Max product page?
