dammmm... now more died thant alive:sarcastic:
|
On paper, this thing is SOOO AWESOME... I just can't wait for the device to catch up.
The switching BEC is the primary reason I selected this device. I would like a single part to handle this all. I want a device that handles all power for all devices. I'm using this in a simple robot, and the brain requires clean power. Now I might need to reconsider my strategy, but wanted this nice and simple so that other people could follow the instructions easily and get to the important stuff, programming the brain. |

My number 5 seems to be working perfectly with an external bec.
|
got my pillow balls from tower today, fixed up the maxx and fired up the V2 on 5s after a 4 day break, Still loves me 32 hours strong
|
ive got my second unit:party:run 30min no issue(on 6cell)internal bec....lolllhow many guy's run on 6 cell ?????without issue
|
and for the guy who the mmm failed what is your average run time(my first unit failed after 3 min)i ask this question because my friend have one unit(one hour on it)and no issue....i would like to buy it....
|
you plug it in e-mike its toast. as everything youve plugged in is. Leave him his working MMM and buy a nitro
|
:lol:it's me his friend, and yes my MMM survived after an hour of runtime on 6s on my Feigao 10L (2458Kv:whistle::rofl:), internal BEC.
The controler still working good but the poor Feigao 10L take a realy beating:lol: |
dammmmmm...my second v2 died....:party:40min of runtime....and it died on startup.....no castle link nada..... back to cc +25$more for shipping
i was tinking that i was lucky.....arrfffff:grrrrrr: just had one unit in the failed group..... |
seriously e-mike stop it, this is your 14th, 2nd one to die, its so old
|
Leave me a call Mike, mine's for you:wink:
|
In all seriousness and some not, neither of you have had more than 10 minutes of fun with electric, some guys are just nitro, heed your calling
|
A few people complain about the cost of freight sending them back. A ext. BEC is only $22

im pretty confident that cc could fix that...in electronic sh&?%?$ can happen!!
castle offer a very good service... just remember a other produc that failed very fast(microsoft xbox 360)and now this is a very popular console.... |
My MMM survived another race day. 4 packs, no problems.
However my old-reliable MM has flaked...I started a new thread about it seeking help... |
e-revo/ emaxx 3906
I BOUGHT MY FIRST ONE FOR MY E-REVO. RUNNING A NEU 1515 1.5D ON 6S GEARED AT 58/18. THIS THING IS GHOST!:surprised: NOT ONE ISSUE. BOUGHT A SECOND ONE FOR MY ALL ALUMINUM MAXX. MOTOR IS A MEDUSA 2000KV. NEVER GOT A CHANCE TO SPIN THE MOTOR. POWERED ON AND I WAS ADJUSTING THE STEERING. NEXT THING IT WAS LIFELESS. LESS THAN 30 SECONDS. THESE ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT TESTED BEFORE THEY LEAVE THE WAREHOUSE I GUESS.
|
they are tested... but im 90% sure they are NOT powered on before sending them out.
they test the fets (not an issue) to see if there is a problem. test them for 24hrs i thought? perhaps not. who knows? |
I,ve been running mine for a few weeks now with an external bec and so far it holds up. Had a run at the local track yesterday and when I got there there all the nitros suddenly just disappeared. I donīt know if my Mugen E-MBX5 prospec is to intimidating and scarred the crap out of the nitroguys  :diablo:
Poor little buggers  |
hooray - past the 50% mark! that is good news
edit: well for a few hours  |
Almost forgot.. +1 on violent Failures ** I have multiples so I can't post this**
I still have one good working unit, but the other (recently replaced) went up like a roman candle the other day... only about 20minutes of use in a 4s config on my 8ight buggy with a smaller medusa v2 2000kv motor no less, also using mechanical brakes even :P |
I've got about 5 packs through my v2 with no problems so far.
Revo 3.3 / Neu 1515 1Y / Flightpower 5s1p 5Ah 25c lipo / MMM v2 |
Mine died after 20 minutes
|
well thats 100 people... interesting. still around 50%.... not good enough for a v2. briang can u start another thread of the same thing for v3's?? it will be great to see thim improvement, hopefully it will be 100 to 1.
|
Mine smoked this past weekend after one run with 6S thunder power extreme V2 5000mah 25C pack..ran 12 min and LVC came on...recharged my lipo, hooked it up, flipped the switch, ESC toned, then SMOKE!!! Just delivered to CC yesterday.
|
Of course, mine has waited until the worst possible moment to fail. After TQ'ing the Monster Truck class at the RC-Monster "Bash" this weekend, and having a really nice big lead in the main...mine just stopped working when landing (correctly) the big triple. I'm pretty sure the case issue is what got me. Ironically, there may actually be video of this failure...anyway I wonder if one of the Mods can change my vote to a "failed".
It held up to 2.8 days of racing. That last ".2" was the most important though... Rats. |
My stock MMM V2 went poof today. Minor poof, more like a bec failure rather than a violent meltdown. BrianG, can you please change my vote to reflect this?

Can't wait for v3! |
Dave - Mine died that day to on my buggy - My bec leads broke just before the 2nd heat so I had to revert to the MMM bec.
It survived everything including the long jump and then died coasting around the track. I'm with Jeff on mechanical stress of the fan connector pushing into the brain board. Even with my cutout there is a clear indent on the foam I had in the insert of the cutout (if that makes sense) |
i dont know what happen ...some of my post are deleted...anyway my third v2 come in flame deadly(after 5 min).....very scary thing....:gasp:
|
Mine is at 45 hours and counting! Here's hoping it stays that way.

neu 1515 1y, MMM (unmodded), 4s trc 8000 mah lipo and 4s neupower 5000 mah 25c lipo. The power switch broke on sunday though, just cut it off and twisted the 2 leads together. |

I voted the last option. :/
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3055/...0b26a00b_b.jpg It worked fine few 4S 5Ah battery runs in my brushless modded Hpi mt2. But then I put it to Inferno and during about 2nd lap on track it started flaming. :) I guess it wanted to smoke too because all the other cars on the track were smoking. Friend on a track went to save rest of the car luckily before anything else burned. Sent the MMM to Castle on monday, from Finland. And while waiting, im gonna try some cheapo China ESC. EDIT: Setup was 4S 5Ah Zippy lipo, MMM, 3000kV L-sized china motor, 13/52 pinion/spur. Engine temp was about 40C, battery was a bit warmed up, prolly because of the short circuit. Never got hot with that setup on Mt2. |
You obviously have a V2 from the pic. Just curious, is there a chance that the motor and/or power bullet connectors touched the heatsink?
|

Hmm, wonder if the bullet connectors is the cause of V2 flames? V1's don't seem to have nearly the same number of catastrophic failures and they used wire instead of bullets...
