t-maxxracer32 11.28.2007 01:54 AM

ya but they will be able to hold their mah longer correct?

what do you think the runtime will be for the 4500s?

gtxracer 11.28.2007 02:25 AM

Probably 20-25min with aggressive driving, maybe 30min with regular driving.

Patrick 11.28.2007 03:10 AM

With a 4s setup geared for ~35mph, you could easily drain them in under 15 minutes in race conditions, but it can also vary a fair bit. Three guys I race with use trackpower 4900's. They've used up to 2400's in about 6 minutes of racing, but sometimes as low as 1600 as well.

That's been my experience too. When the track is high grip/traction I can't go much over 12 minutes - when it's "normal" I can get close to 18 minutes at best. This is racing though - not bashing. I don't know what the bashing time would be since I just used my CRT on the track.

t-maxxracer32 11.28.2007 03:25 PM

well for me it will probably be longer since i wont be WOT very much.
so im guessing 20-30 for me lol.

Sower 11.28.2007 04:32 PM

Driving tecnique will help too - if you avoid using heavy braking you will get better run times.

t-maxxracer32 11.28.2007 05:16 PM

ill be using a servo for my xt8 to break

will that help any?

Sower 11.28.2007 05:47 PM

Nice. That's "brake", not "break"

t-maxxracer32 11.28.2007 05:50 PM

lol im sure i will brake something also:yipi::whistle::party:

Sower 11.28.2007 05:52 PM

Well, that's definitely part of the hobby I guess. Although it took me quite a while before I broke anything on that CRT. They're pretty durable.

t-maxxracer32 11.28.2007 06:08 PM

ya i dont really plan on breaking much on the xt8. as far as i can tell that thing is a freakin beast of a truck. the plastic is this as hell and it all seems to be very well put together.

only thing im worried about is the diffs

t-maxxracer32 11.30.2007 10:26 AM

so i ordered the crt from sower
http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8517

and i ordered the xt8 motor mount and some other things from mike this morning!! hopefully they will arrive the same day!! (maybe saterday!:intello:)

cant wait to drive it.!

ncalenda 12.03.2007 03:55 PM

anyone know how much this will weigh with 4S?

t-maxxracer32 12.03.2007 03:57 PM

hopefully everything will come in today so ill be able to tell u today or tomorow.

You should definitely get it today I would think. Another thing you should definitely do is clean out your inbox. I tried to send you a PM reply but got bounced back.

t-maxxracer32 12.03.2007 04:58 PM

lol i noticed that. i cleaned it out yesterday i believe:intello:

so ya im sitting here waiting for my package to come!! even though it probably wont!! idk!

if it comes then i will be having a :party::party::party:

So you have a CRT, and a XT8 now?

Sower 12.03.2007 05:05 PM

What time does your mail come?

Sower 12.03.2007 05:07 PM

Hey, I just checked the tracking number and this is what it said:

Your item arrived at 5:06 AM on December 3, 2007 in YUMA, AZ 85364. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

That means it's on it's way to your house today. :mdr:

ncalenda 12.03.2007 05:09 PM

I'm really thinking about getting an Xt8 as well. my e-maxx is too heavy. I was thinking of getting the RCM .5 crt kit or the xt8. The .5 kit it cheaper and is smaller, which may be a good thing. But I like the 1/8 scale trucks.

Sower 12.03.2007 05:10 PM

Once you go 1/8 . . . you won't go back.

t-maxxracer32 12.03.2007 05:44 PM

welp ive never gone 1/8 so idk!! and yes lol...

i have a crt that is complete RTR.
and an xt8 that has motor mount and 16018.

i will either get a diff motor or just swap them out or sell one roller or idk! i will figure it out once it comes!!

and WAHOO!!! it should hopefully freakin come!! if not i will be at the post office asking for my package =)

i get my mail from 2 untill around 4 usually.

it is 245 now.

i hate this stupid wait!!

im glad that i didnt have to work today!! =)

t-maxxracer32 12.03.2007 05:46 PM

o and ncalenda.

try and stay away from the .5 ya it looks like a fun conversion and i did one myself. the truck just isnt all that great imo.

if you notice most people buy them and putem together then sell them.

they just arent too cool.

gl with your decision!

t-maxxracer32 12.03.2007 07:48 PM

it came!

wow. the truck is freakin insane. idk how im going to be able to control that on the track.

there are a couple weird things about it but that will get better once i learn to drive it and stuff!!

mikes stuff also came!! DAMN he has some good service.

i will be putting the xt8 together soon and ill get some pics of that up here.

Sower 12.03.2007 08:39 PM

Nice to hear you got it. What do you mean a couple "weird" things about it? Any questions I can answer?

t-maxxracer32 12.03.2007 10:20 PM

going to pm you now =)

t-maxxracer32 12.09.2007 05:22 PM

so i put the xt8 together.

im going to sell almost everything i have and try to keep this. if we end up needing more money then i will have to sell it...

but for now =)

my uh... battery strap...
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...2/S6301239.jpg

idk what im going to do with the evo 25 but for now i guess ill use it for this truck. id keep it because the power is awsome but the runtime freakin blows. less than 20 minutes then takes over an hour to charge. i dont want to charge it at more than 5A because i feel like i will puff it...

once i sell 1600 worth of my stuff (after xmas)... i hope)(
i will start buying little things for this. here is my listt

some type of chrome black rims!
black proline downforce wing (if they have them)
chassis brace
A123 cells
maybe a new body and paint it black! (can i take off the paint of one of my bodies and repaint it)
NEW RADIO SYSTEMMMM my spektrum is acting up. but which one? dx3r? react? FASST? m11?

thanks!

BlackedOutREVO 12.09.2007 09:09 PM

Wow, that batt strap looks pretty, uh ghetto........lol

Hows she run? When are you going to the track to test her out?

ncalenda 12.09.2007 10:05 PM

How much does it weight? And, I would be interested to see how it runs, as well.

gtxracer 12.09.2007 10:08 PM

Looks good man, glad you can keep one of 'em. Hope everything works out for you and the cash I sent you for the LiPo helps. Good luck!

lol the battery strap was for todays first test run. dont worry... it wont be there for long... maybe:na:

the truck runs really nice actually (alot nicer than the crt) but the only problem is my spektrum is messing up so i have VERY little range.

ill take it to the track wendnesday.

the truck weighs aprox 9.4 lbs with the battery and everything RTR.

and ya i am glad i kept one too.. i knew i would regret it later but i have aqwut to thank. he really motivated me to keep one!

anyways ya your money will DEFINETLY help. i just scored a fat check at work today so YESS!!! (that money is used for christmas presents though... probably..)

anyways!

thanks!

ncalenda 12.13.2007 12:28 AM

I think I'm going to get the xt8, now is there anything I need to upgrade?

When I look at the list of options they have, there are not that many.

I would assume the diffs are strong, looking at some pics, they look really good.

ClodMaxx 12.13.2007 12:33 AM

there is nothing needed to upgrade the xt8 - it's very strong in stock form - a very well bred machine.

i'm about a month away from racing mine - so i can report back with race results on how she holds up on the track.

tallyram 12.13.2007 01:01 AM

if you plan on racing it on a tight technical track, the chassis stiffening plate that mike sells isn't necessary. i took mine off and also removed the aluminum front and rear braces. this truck flexes now in the turns and gets more traction. this truck pulls hard out of corners and is a blast to drive!

t-maxxracer32 12.13.2007 02:05 AM

ya i doint think really anything is needed.

maybe knuckles. thats only if you break one though which i doubt it. the way i describe all the parts is like having a FULL RPM truck. all of the plastic is thick as hell and the truck is just put together extremely nice.

Sower 12.13.2007 11:17 AM

Check out post number 3 on this thread:

http://www.truggyracers.com/forum/in...howtopic=16424

I think it's an excellent break down of XT8 setup info. Obviously it will also depend on the type of driving style you have as well as the type of track. Hope this info helps, and welcome to the XT8 club!

ncalenda 12.13.2007 11:32 AM

Here is my challenge, I race on sand, since we have dunes right next to us.

We do race on a hard track once in a while.

What diff oil do I use? With sand, the ground is soft, and can be lumpy. My goal is to set it up to really grab and handle well.

But, when I run on the dirt track, I don't want to have to change the diff oil

Any recommendations?

Sower 12.13.2007 11:37 AM

I don't see any way you can avoid changing diff oils when the grip of the surface is so different. From my understanding, that's what the diff oils are really for. Does anyone else have any other understanding that might help him?

Great info, thanks!!!

Would you start with 7/10/7 on sand?

Ok, then, do people buy extra diffs, and switch them out? Or, how long does it take to change the oil in them?
