To turn down the shaft run the motor whilst in a vice and use a dremel or something similar with a cutting disc to cut down the shaft.
The KB should fit the revo mounts but the holes may have to be off centre if you wish to use the rear support(neu-they have a similar diameter). Alternatively you could just make a plate with the 30mm bolt spacing and use that instead of the one included.:mdr: |
I don't think i would ever be able to grind down the shaft well enough using that trick. I'd make a mess for sure.
|
Honestly, it isn't that hard. You just have to go slowly up and down with the disc at an angle to the shaft and make sure that you have a pinion available to check the shafts size. Just don't do too much at a time and if its close to sliding on use a bit of sand paper or something similar to get the last little bit off.

i did the same with a stone on my dremel.

Video coming of my baja running with two actual baja's.
One is a 30.5 and the other has a 28.5 motor. They did start to pull past me on the top end. Defiantly getting a kb motor:diablo: I am very happy with the chassis though, it handled great. They even commented how mine has better handling then theirs. |
It looks nice, but definitely looks to need more power. Can't wait to see more vids!
|
Yeah yours should have far better handling just because it weighs so much less.
|
if you pm mike i'm sure he could make you a custom version of the neu motor plate to go from 30mm to 25mm..
|
kyle u can put a lmt 3040 in your baja and it still wont catch mine. come on kyle where the vid of yesterdays run. but anyway its a nice build when i was getting my baja out of the car the yesterday to run with him i did not realize it was not a hpi baja until it made no noise.

I don't think I would take that bet if I were you :na: cause we all know that it can be done, it's just a matter of $$$$ and electrics always win  lol |

i know the power of brushless setups. b4 i moved into largescale cars thats what i had. the mega 22/45/2 he is going to try came from me. its a power house it pushed a 12lb 43" catamaran running on 22 cells to 39mph and was pulling less than 30 amps. my other baja not the black one in the vid he is going to post has a fully ported billet reed case motor that is 27.2cc around 7hp est. so im not too worried right now. plus if one loses ill just try another.

Ok finally got the vids up. They are short and not very good. I will get better, longer footage when I get my kb45-10L. I am wondering now if I should have just went with a kb8xl instead. Oh well hopefully I'm satified with the 10L. This was my first full run and it did great. I got a solid 20 minutes of run time:yipi: and no breakage at all. http://s283.photobucket.com/albums/k...t=DSCN6299.flv
