Take a look at the Neu 15xx series page here:
http://www.neumotors.com/20061222/1500_series_.html Lower winds = higher kv. On 6S you are probably best with a 1515 2.5D (what I run in e-Revo on 6S - just over 35mph with very moderate gearing and no heat issues - I could gear a bit lower and have it going 40-45 easily) or a 2D. 1Y may work but you have to gear pretty high and the first few minutes of a fresh pack are going to push that motor up to about ~55K rpm - I think you'll have heat issues. |
ah im trying to aim for 60mph. i've been goin 50-55mph with my picco .28 revo so i'm looking for somthing a bit more

if i get the 1515/1y on 6s, that will be about 50,000RPM which will be pretty quick. but if i get the 1521/1.5D on 6s it will be around 40,000RPM but it will be more powerful so i could gear it higher

ok guys thanks for all of your great help. I've finally made a FINAL list of all my stuff that i will get:
Neu 1521/1.5D motor Poly RC PQ-6000XP-6S Li-Poly Battery I was going to get the MMM esc, but after reading that the v2 MMM were still having problems i am now looking for an alternative. does anyone know any good esc's that will work well with my setup? price is not a constraint |
The MGM esc's are great now with the newer firmware.
|
MGM you say? any specific model? thanks
|
With that motor, I would probably go for the 22418.
|
is that because it has 224A continuous? the motor should only put out about 100A continuous, possibly spike to 200A occasionally.
do you know the continuous rating of the MMM or the peak rating? |
I just like to be sure the esc will handle it. Not sure about the MMM, Patrick from CC gave some rough numbers in a thread around here somewhere. I think he said they were getting 600 amp spikes in their 70 mph emaxx.
*edit* Here is the post. 100 amp continuous and 800 peak. |
o right. 100A continuous isnt actually that much if the battery can do 150A continuous, its kinda limiting the motor. maybe i should go for one of the MGM's, they look pretty capable although they dont have a fan so i wonder how they keep cool...
|
that is continuous 100a, that is plenty, and then the 800a peak, WOW the motor will not be starving for any energy.
|
|
You can get the MGM's with fans on them, if you must have fans, but they stay pretty cool without. The quarks are iffy on 6s, some do it, some don't, and it seems they are hard to get support for now.
|
the v2 is all sorted out now so i would get the MMM.
