I'm sure you will work out a competitive price , when you do PM thanks as i will use it in my 2s speed record pan car . Question on the speed car , do you think heavier lipos are better or lighter ones . I am looking at either the SMC 28c 4000mah or 5000mah packs , but i am thinking the heavier battery would help keep the car on the ground . Any other battery you can recommend that will handle the amps drawn with the Vortex 2.5t motor and gearing you recommended . I have chosen the SMC packs as i know they will fit in the car i am buying and they are top quality cells . 2.00 with a bike is impressive , good luck on the challenge . |

Luci i ddin't think you could alter the chassis in the 2s speed scale class ? or is the TC3 for another use. I am using a 48p 72T spur , couldn't find any smaller in 48p and will start with pinions from 22t - 26t as that's what i have at the moment , should get me going for now . |

I am about to put the order through for the spur / pinion and just had a look at there motors . They have the Orion Vortex 2.5t which is $20 dollars cheaper at $79 than the Speed Passions Competition 2.5t . Both rated at 13,800kv , i have not dealt with Speed passion before and don't mind paying more for it if it's a better motor but just haven't heard any reports on the SP motors ?
I'll have to have a look at Brians speed calculator to see what speeds i'm looking at with 13800kv and 65/40 gearing on 2s :gasp: |

Ok just used Brians calculator , with above set up it's showing 104mph but the motor will be spinning at 102000 rpm :surprised: they are only rated to 70000rpm that motor will disintegrate  Now if i use a motor around 9000kv with the same 65/40 gearing the calculator is showing 157mph :surprised: with the motor at 66000 rpm which is within the limits . I don't understand how using a lower kv motor will yield more speed , maybe the calculator is not working right . I put 1/1 in the differential section since the pan car is direct drive and 2.5" for the tires since that's what foams come in un cut ? |

Think i'll order the Orion in 3.5t which is 9130kv , thats 67562 rpm with 2s and theoretical top speed of 157mph with the 65/40 gearing . Heck i haven't even driven anything over 60mph ,and even with the 72t spur and 25t pinion i already have , that's 129mph theoretical top speed which one of these pan cars would not handle too well anyway without being modified and niether would the driver :mdr: I think i'll be happy with a car that handles and can get over the 85.45mph record in the scale class . Maybe the above speeds would be nice if attemting the open world record of 161mph but not for me at the moment . |
