Those who doubted the sheer throbbing power of my NIMH here are my center diff gears lol.

Those are nicely ground down dude- heavier fluid next time maybe? :mdr:

MetalMan 03.28.2009 10:23 PM

Or maybe better shimming?!?! I've never done that to center diff gears...

never doubted the power, just the weight contributed. Lipo's will save weight and possibly take some stress off those gears, Nice power though.

Are those the heavy duty gears? I had the normal gears in my BPP truggy and they are too weak. After I switched to the heavy duty ones, I never had any problems even with 10S with a Neu 1521/1Y.

Candyman2 04.05.2009 03:51 AM

Hello, no they were just stock gears, I have the heavy duty, hardened hot bodies gears now and all is well on planet candyman :yipi:

Im surprised at how cool everything stays, after 5 minutes of heavy driving in my maxx its about ready to shut down, but this..... well 10 minutes of heavy driving and its barely warm, very unusual, because of the low kv i guess.

Anyway I spent my "lipo" money on a nice HD camcorder so you can all see my nimh's in hi-res  this is a short clip, my camera person quickly got bored filming the truck

if you click the little HD logo it looks much clearer

Damn! That's uh... wow. Just don't hit anybody with it, unless you don't want them to walk again! lol

Very nice and clean car you have over there! I'm really jalous on the motor mount you made. Compared to mine it's just really damn freaking awesome! (But I only had a drill and my Dad)

Still one question, you said you bought your aluminium on eBay, right? Can you post a link or something? I can't find any 7075 aluminium on eBay...

Thanks

Candyman2 04.05.2009 04:16 PM

me either, i had to settle for 6061, or you can email some of the bigger sellers on there, sometimes they can get hold of aircraft grade stuff. I only got strong stuff for my chassis plate, the rest is just regular stuff, thats why I made the motor mount so thick. Failing that 6082 is a pretty strong but cheaper, more redily available grade.

Camera person... :mdr:

Women are more trouble than they're worth- my truck is a girlfriend substitute in itself....
