294 Amain - with coupons should be able to get for around 270

Slash is cheaper at 280 - with coupons should be able to get for around 255

Better prices at Tower using coupon codes:

$289.99 + $9.99 - $50 = $249.98

Or but the super saver membership with one and you don't need to buy it again with the other and save $9.99 more.

I pre-ordered both of them this morning. It's a backup for if my LHS has a hard time getting them in quickly when they're released or if they can't meet me somewhere in the middle on price. They should be able to hook me up though. They got me my Savage Flux for $589 and my Summit for $450 since I bought them both at the same time.

this is great, 250 for the truck, 150 for a lipo charger(or cheaper if i buy used), and 100 for a bunch of 3s lipos. right at 500 for a whole new mini erevo setup. Cant wait to pick one of these little babys up!

lincpimp 04.15.2009 02:05 PM

Hmm, if you plan to run 2 2s packs in series I would buy this lipo charger: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...Charge_Capable

It will charge at about 1.8amps, and will do 2 2s packs at once. Plenty for the size packs we are talking about. I have one and it works great, charges each cell in the pack separately, so the charge time is fast even with an out of balance pack.

They also have a 5 amp power supply for 10 bucks.

And 2 of these packs: http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...0mAh_2S1P_20C_

Run them in parallel for a 3200 mah 2s setup that will do 30 and have great runtime, or go in series for a 1600mah 4s setup that should easily beat 50.

With std shipping you are at less than 75 bucks... And I am sure that the prices will come down on the minis, so I can imagine you could keep the cost under 300 bucks for the whole deal...

that is great news linc, this stuff sure is alot cheaper than 1/10th stuff, atleast when i was looking into it. ill have to pick up two or three sets of lipos for max runtime!

so around 300ish for a full brushless lipo mini erevo! i can swing that!. then comes the upgrades oh i have caught the bug again!

There is a picture on traxxas.com showing the tire size, I can't port it over so someone else will have to.
http://monster.traxxas.com/showthread.php?t=470574
about the 20th pic down, the tire size is 3.8x1.8x2.0 I assume inch and the rim is 2 inches

This? 3.25 not 3.8. It's said you can jump up to 2.8 wheels also. It's a 12mm hub also.

Linc. There have been questions posted to the Traxxas engineers about 4s. They said it is a no go. The ESC will go into overload protection. 3s is the best we'll get out of the Velenion.

BP-Revo 04.22.2009 12:05 AM

I think 3S is plenty in a little thing like this.

If you want more power go ahead and swap out the motor for an 11 series Neu. A 1112 will be more than enough.

Always Dreamin 04.22.2009 12:54 AM

+1

3s will throw that thing around like crazy. but then you could run a 1s and a 2s?

BP-Revo 04.22.2009 01:08 AM

Not 1S, that wouldn't be enough to power the receiver and what not. But you can run 2S just fine.

I think that 2s will be fine, run a pair of packs in parallel and get great runtimes and plenty of punch! 20mph in something a foot long will be wicked! And at that speed crashes should not be as expensive...

I generally run extra voltage but never really give full throttle, but I like having that extra trigger travel for when there is a extra huge gap I want to clear, or another truck I want to leave in the dust.

hmm, was thinking that 1/8th scale buggy wheels and tires woul be about the right siize but it seems that most are about 4.5" tall verses 3.25....i just think one of these things with some 1/8th scale badlands would look awesome.

i think itll look sorta funny. waay too big of a tire for sumthing so tiny. i think some 1/10 stadium truck tires would look awesome.
proline ribbed for the front, and some proline gladiators for the rears.

I saw it but mistyped it, sorry

I am still planning to run a 5s setup, using a quark 33amp pro car

That question had been Emailed to support and the poster was told that the esc could support 4s but not the cut off, I'd have to find the post. Honestly, I don't see it
