Talking about bad influences... :P
Working out a deal with dwight..planning to sell my MMM rustler roller to him haha...I'll be picking up a lx1e soon. Already have the 2650kv MMM and 4s lipos and a hitec hs 985 servo for it. Can't wait :D |
NICE!! For starters, He has the tires for the project... plus, the know how and experience to carry on, and see it through to its goal. not to mention he's a great guy to deal with, and has always gone above and beyond when it came to helping me or that vxlbeast dude... your truck will be happy (at least at first) in its new home... and who knows.. maybe he'll take it to its goal, and get it on video so that the nay sayers on the other board can jet off your sack about being a quitter... :)
On another note.. I bought a 2650 to run as well... thinking some high speed 4s runs with that while i wait for the right 6 cell to become available... |
Yeah..cant wait! Here's a upgrade list I made from reading many different forums..Although I wont make these certain untill I actually get a feel for the car..

I think Im going to stop with my speeding...Ill stick to 4s, and make this a basher/racer.. |
motor mount for ultra lx-1e
does rc monster or anyone make a different motor mount for the ultra lx-1e?????
|
my lx-1e has a bent chassis, thanks to it bouncing 6ft in the air off of the wing. it was very bent, the rear chassis brace was torn off of the bulkhead, and the dogbone was shaped like a question mark. i managed to get the chassis and dogbone straightened temporarily, but it didn't take much to tweak the chassis, bending my chassis brace.
the cheapest i have found a stock chassis for the lx-1e was $70. this is a standard 6061, non-machined 3mm chassis. why the hell is it so expensive? a new chassis for my crt x2 is only $40 and it is machined, 7075, lightened and hardened. are there any aftermarket chassis for this buggy? i haven't been able to find any, so if anybody knows of either a cheaper chassis, or an aftermarket chassis, please, let me know. |

the servo.. Mine has held up fine in my blitz, but my friend had his oval out the holes that hold the pins that all the gears stack on... as if the servo is all fine EXCEPT the plastic case... Im still using the DS1313 in mine and its great. i am going to try this new Spektrum servo the S6040. i'll let you know on tuesday how the materials are.. just trying to find a xervo that is cheaper than the DS1313 or DS1015 and still performs good and is reliable.. and not cheap chinese.... but my chinese one is still working fine too.. LOL.. maybe im just nicer to my stuff than my friends are.. LOL. |
Haha..getting one of these now instead :P

dude, i've seen this happen quite a few times. it is a HUGE pain in the ass...It even happend to me after a big ass jump. I had to replace the center bone, the chassis, and for me i had to replace the gear case and the rear arm mount. they do make the rear arm mount in aluminum, but no aftermarket chassis. i even tried to mod a nitro lx-1e chassis, and you CAN, but it's also a huge pain in the ass and takes some drilling and dremeling. your best bet is to get a T-bone bumper set. that lx-1E NEEDS it to keep the chassis safe. since i got that, i haven't had anymore chassis issues at all and i've had some gnarly crashes. http://www.t-bone-racing.com/catalog/i313.html |
i'll also add...the only other thing that has happend to me lately has been the motor coming loose after a big jump. there is a quick fix for this.
i got one of Mike's front motor covers and tapped them to 4MM and filed the mount on the lx-1e to fit the screws. after that, no more motor coming loose on a hard landing. |
I had the loose motor thing.. think it was like scarlettboa's though.. the factory screws were simply not the right siaze that they should have been.. i bought the Lunsford fatboys "long" screws and it has been rock solid since...
Does anyone know if any of the motor mounts from EliteRC will fit.. like maybe the SCRT10, or the 9E or Hyper10 SC... im swapping motors in and out alot and would like it to be as simplistic as possible... |

however, if any did fit... maybe the hyper 10 might. you might check the instruction manuals to see if any of them share the same part number for the mount. |
Woo! The ultra lx1 is ordered! Along with the servo and GH tool set..Can't wait! :D
|
Anyone try other bodies on this thing?? Ofna wants 50 bucks for a clear... 90 for a chassis... I dont get it.. this is the cheapest buggy out there.. although its good.. but the parts.. LOL.. most expensive...
What bodies have worked?? |
