Was funny is that I use zippy all the time, and I actually typed crappy. The spell check on my phone corrected it to that, and I found it so funny, I just didn't change it.

Any where to look on the MMM to see what version it is? I don't have the original box anymore. My original one had a V3 sticker on the bottom of the packaging, but i forgot to check this black friday one I bought. I'd be super happy if it was a V5, but I won't be depressed if its just a V3, my truggy loves its 1yr old V3 which regularly gets punished on 6S.

Sensors are for pussies!
I'm guessing the fan & housing unit on top of the esc are designed to be easily removable with a small flat bladed screw driver- nice bit of design. I wonder though, how many people will be moaning about dead fans because they didn't remove them, and I wonder how many people will complain of dead escs when they ran them fully submerged for long durations ( disclaimers are great when people read them )... |
When did they start publishing amperage? :rules:

So what you are really liking about about your RX-8 is the programming that gives a different throttle feel than the Castle ESC software. ...and maybe the current limiter, if you use it. |

I guess we really cant go wrong either way when it comes down to it as the technology has vastly improved over the last decade. |

Also, different versions of firmware give a different "feel" to the MMM, it might be worth trying other firmware versions. (I think 1.24 was a good one IIRC) |
I have both Tekin and Castle, actually more Castle. Sensor end is nice for one simple reason. When my rig is rolling backwards I don't have to wait for it to stop before I can go forward. Say I case a jump and its rolling back down, I have to wait for it to stop before it will go, this has been every Castle setup I've used.
I know, there will be plenty of people saying that is untrue but whatever, that's always been my experience. I know the general Castle to Tekin ratio on this forum but felt like I had to post that. The new esc looks good though and I'm sure I will end up with one. |
i agree, i own tons of castle, and alot of sensoed stuff too, sorry, back in th novak days sensored was crap (thats novaks fault) but now days its a whole nother world, even with lower specs and cheeper fets teken's are winning races, if sensorless was so amazeing you would see it in racing more, i can tell you it comes down to software with sensors now and im sad to see castle not keeping up with the times.
im not going to run out and sell my castle stuff or anything dumb, and i will but a MMM V2 but i was hopeful that castle would open the door for bigger than 1/8 scale sensored set ups, i could only imagine a 1717 that started up smooth on a 1/5 gst that had good breaks...... of well, maybe one day |

And Harold...I am keeping the 1520 until it blows up!!! I did have 3 at one point and sold 2 so that's all I have left. The 1520 is one of the best motors Castle ever made |
