If your looking for 30-40 minute run times, go with a 8000mah lipo's. I usually get bored after 40 minutes and they're still at 7.4V per pack. You could do the 4000's or 6000's if you want less weight.

Rcbros 09.14.2006 02:09 AM

I'll be going lipos but I need to know what motor.

how long would you assume the 6000's last?

bluonyx- what motor you running? is it a g2r or custom?

bluonyx 09.14.2006 09:24 AM

I tried the 9920 with a 10XL setup, but ended up with a HV 4.5 System. I love there customer service and support. And don't have to wait forever if I need servicing. Here's my G2R setup: (ignore the tire direction, I was in a hurry to take the pic)

I've since replaced the bats with the lipos and added the spektrum telemetry kit for temp and voltage monitoring.

coolhandcountry 09.14.2006 02:14 PM

On 6000 mah lipo 4s. I get about 40 to 60 mins of run. Depends on how hard i run it.

neweuser 09.14.2006 02:40 PM

wow CHC, how are you accomplishing the run times? i run 8000mah on a 9xl, and get about 30-40min of run time on 5s, but they only have three runs on them...

coolhandcountry 09.14.2006 03:31 PM

Not sure. I was getting 20 to 30 with 3800 6s on that same motor. Are you sure you getting a full charge on batts.

neweuser 09.14.2006 03:38 PM

I'm pretty sure. need to check the status on the batts. but i also run pretty fast across the fields i drive in...

Rcbros 09.14.2006 08:16 PM

Great suggestions on batts. But how about a motor? Something in the XL series please.

9XL or 10XL? whats the difference?

they have different KV ratings 1667 for the 9xl and 1502 for the 10xl (i think).

in my e-maxx i run a 9xl on 16 cells and i am soon to get 5s lipos too. speed and power is really insane. geared 18 51, 14.6 wheel base and it still does wheelies..............

neweuser 09.15.2006 09:00 AM

Cemetery is correct. The 9xl will run a tad warmer than the 10xl. i run 5s lipo on my 9xl. It's pretty quick, would call it that insane, but quick. i have mine geared 16/51 on 5s. May try the 18 soon to see how hot she gets..:)

Serum 09.15.2006 11:33 AM

And i run 5S on my 7XL, that's pretty insane. I do get a nice runtime though.

An 8 or 9XL would be my choice.

neweuser 09.15.2006 11:36 AM

Serum, does your motor get hot?

Serum 09.15.2006 11:39 AM

yes... burning hot...

but it's fast... :p

neweuser 09.15.2006 11:46 AM

I bet! on 5s...18.5 volts! Yeah, real fast! i know my 9xl moves pretty good only geared 16/51! So yours must really move dude!

Serum 09.15.2006 11:51 AM

Voltage doesn't exactly stays 18.5V.. 14.6 is more what it's doing. The reason why i ordered the 5s2p.

Rcbros 09.23.2006 11:57 AM

Dafni, I have a 9L laying around and while I wait for my Wallet to magically fill up I'd like to run it.

You said you stopped running it because of issues. What were those issues? And did you ever find a suitable gearing for the motor.

If not, I'm not opposed to running brushed for now. What gearing did you use when you ran stock brushed. And did you run 14 cells on an EVX? How were the temps?

Thanks a bunch!

Serum 09.23.2006 02:26 PM

The temps are the issues, and if i remember correct a magnet split on the shaft, which is an isolated case. you can run it on 14 cells. It's a hot setup though. A heatsink and fans might be a wise idea.

Thunderbruiser 09.28.2006 06:44 PM

i have a bl revo...first off what tires you guys recommend? second what servo horn can i use to get max throw on my servos

squeeforever 09.28.2006 06:49 PM

So have I, those look like they would be some of the best all around tires.

crazyjr 09.28.2006 09:21 PM

I'm runing panther boas on hurricane wheels on my G2R and its hooked on everything fron hard packed with dusty top to grass(got a little of everything on this track)

Thunderbruiser 09.28.2006 09:25 PM

should i run alminum hexes? cause i melted a plastic one along with the center of a rim lol

squeeforever 09.28.2006 10:31 PM

Glue the 14mm plastic hexes in the rims. That should help some.

Serum 09.29.2006 01:24 AM

Yeah, CA glue them to the rim. use a wheel-shaft to tighten them while the glue is drying.

E-Maxx King 10.02.2006 12:49 AM

Thats one of the best ones ive seen. Hows the handling?

Thunderbruiser 10.02.2006 08:40 PM

coo thanks for the tip...i'll do that soon...are you guys running pro-line steering kits on yours or what?

crazyjr 10.03.2006 11:06 PM

don't make one for the revo

JThiessen 10.04.2006 11:03 AM

The Traxxas heavy duty servo saver and a single good high torque servo seem to hold up well. Although I'd perfer to spend my money on someone elses aftermarket stuff, some of the Revo stock parts are pretty good.

Serum 10.04.2006 11:26 AM

Crazy, they do, and yes, the revo i have got will use it.

Crazy, it's just the arm, with a single servo mounting option instead of the stock using two.

BrianG 10.04.2006 11:46 AM

Just to clarify; just the Proline single steering arm won't increase servo travel - it just makes the steering not sloppy when using one servo. You have to do some other small modifications to increase steering range; trim the servo guard, trim the steering arm stops, and trim a little on the arm itself.

Mr lst mine is exactly like dafni's except mine is extended by 1 inch & anodized red. Also i got your pm over at the other forum. Did you want a complete truck or just a roller ?.

Dafni 03.01.2007 03:29 AM

Thank you Mr LST, the offer still stands :)

Sylvester 03.01.2007 08:43 AM

Offer?! Your selling this truck daf?

Dafni 03.01.2007 08:50 AM

No, not the whole truck. Mr LST wants to work together with me to get one for himself.

Sylvester 03.01.2007 09:00 AM

Oh ok! Come on RCM Mike, we need DIFFS! :)

Mr.lst 03.01.2007 10:08 AM

what diffs are you talking about?

Sylvester 03.01.2007 10:16 AM

Pm replied..

Dafni 04.01.2007 04:45 AM

A short vid from the truck. Edited by Freakstylr. First off comes his Savage.
Just a little backyard testing, nothing crazy. The editing is nice, but the tricks are mostly bails.... I swear I can do better when there's no camera LOL :019: Just as with skateboarding :027: :027:

Enjoy

Nice daf! Liked the grinding after you went off the jump, ive heard those rails are quite tricky to get on!

What is the exact setup you were running there? And gearing? Thanks.
