I read earlier in this thread about the 1717 air version being sent for the car 1717.When I ordered my 1717 I added a note to send the car version.My email invoice says air version.I need the longer wires of the car version to reach to my MMM.The KV difference and is no big deal.But these deals are great.And for 70 dollars I am STOKED
|
Bleh, just extend the wires with a tidy butt joint- wont make any difference to current flow etc.
I just got a ransom note in the mail from ParcelFarce; they want £10.60 for VAT & £8 for a clearance fee; just paid that so I should have the motor on tuesday. :no::yipi: |
Splice the wires?I can do that.Hey these motor are a steal at this price I am not complaining.Whats your definition of butt joints.:party:
|
Not the same as Linc's & Harold's, I'll say that much...
http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n...Mulligan99.jpg I extended my MMM's battery wires to reach the front of the truck where the battery tray is- the join is so neat you wouldnt notice it except for the shrink covering the bare wire. |
The air 1717 I recieved has 6mm shaft iirc..

I'm trying to sort it out on this end, and if you entered it online I'm concerned. Thanks Lee |

Is there a better way to go about this? Thanks! |

I received the email confirmation with the 12 digit number. But haven't received anything since. I did email CS and recieved the following response. "All orders processed within the last seven days will be processed and shipped by 10/04/2010. Thanks " I hope these orders didn't fall through the cracks somewhere. |

I got mine in really short order, manner of a couple of days.

Does anyone make a mod 1 6mm pinion.Just in case my 1717 has a 6mm shaft?

I received the correct 1717 motor today. Motor didn't come in the generic brown box as the airplaine motor, but a production box. Now the prepaid return envelope is just way too small to put old motor in. Got to call Monday and ask how they want me to ship it back.

Castle does have the 5mm rotors for the 1717. I'm sure they would swap out, or it would be a minimal charge. I mean you just got a $200+ motor for 70... |
Shipping costs :surprised::surprised::surprised:
If I order through this link http://www.castlecreations.com/promo...clearance.html I have to pay $ 40,20 shipping for 2 1520 motors If I order through this link http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...le_motors.html I have to pay $ 31,05 shipping for 2 1520 motors :whistle::whistle::whistle: |
Yeah, damnit I paid $40,20 .... can CC fix this?
|
If you order from the clearance sale link CC writes that they give no warranty
If you order from the site page nothing is been said over no warranty :wink::wink::wink: |

I am one of those that wanted shipping info right away when my order was placed. I got an email friday stating my shipping info from UPS in the US. I know this is an anxious time for some buyers but I believe Castle will get your orders to you. I think their ordering system is overloaded with small orders. I would say to cut them a little break and expect a 2 week delay on shipping notice. What is your choice, no deal? If they ran out of motors I'm sure they would take the item off the web page.
Castle guys, just a suggestion, I think that any email updates to the buyers that is non auto generated will calm buers down. Most of us just don't know if the order we are placing will actually be in stock once we place it. X |
Just noticed they added mamba max esc to the list. Will they work with the 2650 or do I need a sensored motor?
|

It could probably handle 3s ok. I know it can handle 4s with some 540 size motors and a external bec. |
Mamba Max ESC doesn't do sensored, only sensorless. You need something from the CM36 line, or equivalent. It has a max of 3S.
http://www.castlecreations.com/products/mamba_max.html However according to the SC advisory, it seems that the MM can run with the 2650. http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/newr...reply&p=382715 |
I got confirmation my order is on its way. I never got an original invoice. I used the money order method, not sure if it matters, but they must have received my check I sent. Thanks for the clarification on the address.
Now I'm eyeing some of those outrunners. My Trex 500 could use one and my assorted planes too. I ordered 3 of the 1717s car version. I'll post what actually shows up on Wednesday. Not sure what I am going to do with them yet, but I'll find something. |

Got my package today and the air 1717. Guess Dena didn't manage to change the order quick enough.:oops:

If you dig up some of the old threads from the early electric conversion guys you can probably find a lot of info about using that esc with 1/8 scale motors. |
^^oh yeah, the MM was the bomb back in the day. 4S, MM+bec and a 8XL(2200kv) was the MT setup to have.

The 2650 actually does surprisingly well on 2s in a Slash 4x4. A few guys at the track run them. The power is huge thus allowing them to gear up for the speed required at the track. Works quite well.
xsmoker- not quite sure why you are going with the MM, its a thing of the past. I would use the MMM or MMP. |
