Unless someone posts or I otherwise am sure of the values, they don't get entered.

thzero 10.08.2010 10:10 AM

Associated RC8T is 43/10 with a center diff (1/1 tranny).
Associated RC8B is 43/13 with a center diff (1/1 tranny).
SC8 is 43/10 with a with a center diff (1/1 tranny).

Associated SC10 is a 2.6 gearbox same as the RC10T/etc.

Losi XXX-T is 2.43.

Thanks for that info!

I use gear tooth counts, not ratios (decreases rounding errors when calculating), so what gear tooth counts make up the XXX-T? I assume since the SC10 has the same ratio as the RC10T that the gears are the same...

thzero 10.08.2010 10:54 AM

No idea; double checked the Losi documentation and they don't list the gear tooth counts for the three internal gears. Next time I pull it apart I'll have to remember to count them.

I added the Associated RC8T, RC8B, SC8, and SC10 trans and diff data. Let me know when/if you get the XXX-T data...

thzero 10.08.2010 01:54 PM

Ok, sent an email to Losi, see if I get a response (hahaha).

The page you linked is for the RC8Be electric version. I think he is referring to the nitro version of the RC8B. I don't know if it makes any difference...

Update:

Now that much of the data is in XML form, I have created several pages to manage the data via the web interface. However, I need a few testers to make sure things work right. I did my own testing, but it's always better to have more than one set of eyes.

Ideally, I plan to have a few people (mods, long-time reputable members) with the ability to edit/add data as needed, but first need to make sure everything works.

I only need a few people as of right now, so if you don't mind helping, send me a PM and I'll provide the link and login credentials.

Update:

I reworked the R/C Calc site so it will fit nicely in a smaller area primarily so it can be used as a Facebook application. I know some of you won't like the new layout, but the developer gets to decide what's best . Besides, what do you expect for free?

However, I can't submit it to the applications directory until it gets "5 total users or 10 active monthly users". Don't ask why because I don't know. Makes no sense to me since I would think you'd need to submit it to get a user base. Apparently, they do this to discourage the use of applications that require user authentication. But since my app doesn't require it, you'd think it would just publish?

Anyway, if any of you are a registered facebook user, could you do me a favor and go to the application page and "like" it? Not sure if it will help though, but it can't hurt. If that doesn't do it, I'll have to trawl through all of their API documentation, 99.9% of which does not apply, but whatever.

Here's the link since it won't even turn up in a search: http://www.facebook.com/apps/applica...14159475311275

Liked.

The new layout is actually pretty good- no more difficult to navigate, though the right to left switch when using each separate tool is a little odd at first.

You know, the only thing missing is some nice big logo or image on the home page of the r/c calc page/site- big white expanse with a link at the top looks rather empty- needs some epic picture or logo etc..

I thought about putting a logo somewhere to make it look better, but A) I don't have a logo, and B) I don't like to add stuff that doesn't directly improve usability. Glad you like it though. I thought it was a bit "plain".

lol, no no, it's still available in the same old location. As a matter of fact, the version on facebook is simply an iframe that contains the site. I just wanted to add more exposure.
