hey BrianG. Im not sure, but it looks like this thread is turning into a programming thread. anyways. is it still ok to submit motors, some esc and charger specs ?
as for progressiverc, thats not my table, i cant help really, i only 'served an idea/wish' if you know what i mean. i cant possibly match any data from you two either, i only have xp from decades ago.. I am forever glad that this rc calculator is still progres. its the best thing in rc ever. quick question: is there any way to minic load on a brushless system set-up, as to like set torque factor/nm of outdrive etc? using a watt meter didnt seem useful when out of a truck..? can we vote for a new background skin for the calculator ?new theme and out goes that carbon fiber. but of coz thats just merely fine tuning of the calculator..haha :mdr: |
lol, yeah, it does delve a little on the programming, but there are some here who have good ideas so I like to keep such discussions open. Yes, additions of motor/diff/tire/transmission/spur gear data are always welcome. You can either post that info here, or send it to the email address listed in the FAQ page of my site.
I sent you a PM, but in short, I spoke to Dave from progressiverc and he wants to do something, just not sure what yet. Mimicing a load on a setup can be good if the user knows what they are doing, or the results could be completely off base if they enter in garbage. As in any programming: garbage in=garbage out. It's not like aircraft where the prop places a fairly constant load on the system; with cars, it's MUCH more peaky. But, a couple pages do make an attempt at implicitly taking load into consideration:
I suppose you could suggest a new background skin. Not sure if it will be implemented, but I will consider it. I try to keep image use to a minimum to speed it up, plus it's more utilitarian, so design takes the back burner. |

Seriously now - No Summit transmission ratios? ;)
|
@Snoop: Fixed. Thanks!
@Chris: Provide me with the internal gear tooth counts (and the final ratio just so I can check to make sure the gears are in the right order) and I'll gladly add them. This pic should give you an idea what I need: http://scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/images/trans.jpg |
Unprecedented Versatility With T-Lock differentials and High-Low Transmission
Only Summit™ gives you the ability to lock the differentials and shift from low to high gear right from the transmitter. No need to break from the action to swap gears or install locking parts. Tear up the trail in "high range" with a 25:1 ratio for dirt-slinging speed. When the terrain turns technical, drop it into "low range" for a 70:1 ratio and unreal climbing torque. For the ultimate in climbing traction, flip the T-Lock switch to lock the front differential. Need even more grip? Activate the rear T-Lock diff for fully-loaded 4WD power no matter which tire is gripping or slipping |
OK, so what are the gear tooth counts for each speed?

They are similar to an E-Maxx 3905 with 2 speed http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z...ummitGears.jpg Morten |
Summit transmission added. Thanks SnoopMaxx!

your welcome :eyes:

That pic you drew is a combination of a 3-gear setup (2nd gear) and a 4-gear setup (1st gear). Then, there are two versions of 1st gear (wide and close ratio). Took me a minute to see what your pic meant, but was easy after that.

:mdr: Well all my years as a machinist hasn't gone to wast then

In case anyone hasn't noticed, I recently did a complete overhaul of the select lists (drop downs). Before, they were actual select lists, but I never liked the limited styling they offered, so I developed a DHTML replacement API. It works fine in IE, FF, Chrome, Opera, but I am not sure how they work in "lesser" browsers such as the ones found on mobile devices (particularly Android and iPhone). So, if anyone has such a web-enabled phone, please let me know if they work for you. And if not, what do they do or not do, or any error messages. Thanks!

Nice, however could you just do a plain white or maybe very very light gray background? The checkerboard makes it harder to read.
I just did a quick test on an Android (Nexus One, Froyo 2.2, standard browser) and they worked fine even the searching. |
Thanks for looking!
You know, I had lightened up the background image, but I guess I forgot to FTP the updated image to my server... |
