Had a little scare today. The other day I ran my buggy in my dads backyard chassing the dog around in grass with no body on. I went to turn it on today and saw that the fan wasn't working and there was a whole bunch on grass inside the fan and esc. Don't know why I didn't realise this when I turned it off at my dad's. I took the ESC apart and took all the grass out and started it up and away the fan goes  I did notice mark on the bottom of the case where the fan plugs into so I cut a little bit out just to be on the safe side. Can't wait for my days off to take it around the track again :intello:

I think you were close to the dreaded fan failure and possible bec failure on the v1 , lucky boy . |
That will get the blood pumping for sure. :intello: I’m glad it worked out for you.. Got any Vid you @ the track to share with the team (?)..

My wife still hasn't worked out how to use the video function on the new camera. See if I can get 45minutes of straight action for you all

I'm about to do a similar conversion.. just wanting to get your thoughts on what 'spare' parts to have on hand. I have a new race roller en route, and the losi e-conversion kit (new item). I'm about 1:20 from my track so when I go that distance, I like to be ready for any 'issues'.
Thanks! Nice setup! |
I haven't had no breakages and it has been through hell and still haven't broken any parts. I have had a few guys tell me just to have spare A-arms on hand but haven't had no dramas. I would recommend though to get some skid plates. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Team-losi-8ig...QQcmdZViewItem
You will also require thicker diff oil. http://i34.tinypic.com/ifbh3a.jpg http://i37.tinypic.com/nv5e8w.jpg http://i38.tinypic.com/1zn1xmp.jpg |
Those are the exact skids I am running. I ended up taking off the front skid, since I can't find screws long enough to hold it in place. The stock screws work everywhere except for the very front two holes that also hold the bumper in place. Other than that, the skids work great and definitely give the buggy more protection.

Well had some fun today in my backyard with it. While I was driving around my son was riding his little trike thing with a trailer. 1 thing led to another and the trailer was zippie-tied to the rear shock tower. We then had to test out how it could jump.

That's a nice shot. Looks like he really digs his Eight. I mean your Eight.
Bam I hit post and all the rest of the pictures showed up. Now those have a little more action then just the first four I saw. Looks like the trailer is pretty aerodynamic (sp). |
I only mowed yesterday so there was a far bit of grass clippings around. The buggy was covered in grass and grass got all in the MMM but the fan still works fine. Took the top off, blew the grass away and still works strong as. Temps were great to but always are when bashing around Motor - 105F ESC - 85F Battery 83F

Blew it down with Air Compressor and buggy came up pretty clean
