Yess and that plastic rollcage looks sweet too :yipi:

Made some progress today, servo was mounted and the rest of the wiring was done. Tried the setup unloaded (tires floating) and for some reason the from drive shaft popped and bent the pin....I was forced to undo drive system and motor again...I found out that 2 parts a rubbing each other causing unwanted movement on the drive shaft

http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/3989/prob1zf6.jpg

milled some parts out from the drive shaft by using a pile while letting to shaft rotate at slower speed...now got everything back up but wont be able to do test...:whip: :whip: :whip: need to work so testing needs to wait another 2 days

That sucks....

suicideneil 11.29.2008 04:46 PM

Awesome project, cant wait to see it up and running fully.

TruckBasher 12.02.2008 01:00 AM

It was a cold morning but I finally got a video of my conversion. I am happy how it turned out though it still needs a few tweaks. Most flipping of the truck was an attempt to drift, I just thought it will be fun

Temps were:
ESC: 90-100 peaked at 104degF
Motor: 110-120 peaked at 122degF
wasnt able to check batts...

Runtime was great 15-20mins and still going strong thou I decided to stop...for reasons that antenna hasnt been fully mounted yet, MMM switch was just tied and wiring still a messed. just used tier wrap and things to prevent them from roaming around

Apologize for the crappy cam

Comments, suggestion and critics are appreciated..thanks

Awesome! Great temps for sure. I'm glad it worked out.

sikeston34m 12.02.2008 09:06 AM

Excellant! I'm glad you like the way it turned out.

Looks like you have some good acceleration there!

It also looks like the Monster Mamba handles outrunners very well. I haven't had a chance to test it this way yet.

Very cool running. You will have to tie a dog sled on the back of it before the temps get up. LOL

My suggestion from this point: Try some different battery combinations.

If you have some 4S Lipo laying around, I think you will be impressed with the difference. Although the A123 does have its advantages.

Maybe even try 5S or 6S. There's alot more untapped power in there. But it does look pretty quick just like you have it.

GREAT Job guys! I would love to have one like this myself.

I'll get back into this as soon as I get this construction done. Adding 2 Bedrooms and a Bathroom onto the house. We just got the drywall done. Almost there. Whew!

Thanks for the recognition. You guys make me feel like part of the family around here.

Turned out really well- no signs of cogging which is good news for sure. Only question I really have is whats the weight of the thing without batts? Must be pretty good since there is no tranny.

MetalMan 12.02.2008 03:44 PM

I really want to know the weight savings as well!

Thanks for the suggestion, actually the only reason I used A123 is that I have a 5S2P that I dont that much...So I reconfigured it to fit E-Revo (4S). The original plan is to use 4S Lipo (no money yet saving for the holiday and my little sister's wedding). Basically I just couldnt wait so I used A123

I'm thinking of getting RCM Lipo or PQ XP 6000mAh, though the RCM one might need to change the connectors

I am really thankful to you Sikes because of your Direct Drive to Diff I wouldnt have inspiration to begin with this setup.

Thanks Neil, for the weight.......it's about 7-8lbs without battery. I dont have a smaller and more accurate scale but it showing around 3-3.5Kg :surprised: ....this includes the UBEC and Sway Bars

E-Slayer bashing with Maxx-1

My 2 trucks fooling around
E-Slayer temps
ESC: 104-110 peak at 114defF
Motor: 115-120 peak at 122degF
batt: 98-101 degF

Maxx-1 Temps
ESC: 114-122 peak at 126degF
Motor: 122-130 peak at 133degF
batts: 100-108degF

nothing really special. The driver of the MAXX-1 is still trying to get use to the MGM ESC and my settings stills needs to be tuned for that matter. Got some donut attempts on the first vid...2nd vid got more donut fun... :yipi:
