Do tell....

cadima 11.14.2008 10:34 PM

based on nothing. Dreamed up from scratch to serve one purpose.....dominate the 1/8 scale. Nitro, brushless, no matter. It's made to beat what you are driving right now and I don't even know what you have. Mike will be selling them. They're not conversions of ther brands' truggies. They're his own line of tr(b)uggies. I'm guessing late spring for the entry level model. Still have work to do on the "reference" version.

brushlessboy16 11.14.2008 10:37 PM

wow.. thats awesome! any chance at a sneak peak?

cadima 11.14.2008 10:43 PM

no f'in way, sorry. Mike hates when I do that. The entry level concept was shown at the Monster Bash 2008 not long ago IIRC. Maybe someone has a pic of it to share or if you convince mike it's ok, I can slip a few renderings of the version mike had on display.

CAD is more fun when you get to see the fruit of your labor, that is...............getting the parts made in real life! :yipi: Here's a pic of the real truggy that was made from the above CAD files. Considering it was my first truggy, first 4wd, and first 1/8, I think it was sweet and still to this day when I dream of new layouts for truggies I find myself circling back to this one as a valid solution to the project objective.

if you want to see the project, there's a thread on the thing from initial CAD concept to final design. The truggy was stolen and I even got it back. Quite a trip that truggy's had.

I have studied that thread... i just dont have anyone to sponsor me to machine the parts.. no CNC machine and no raw materials...

cadima 11.14.2008 11:14 PM

yup, nor did I until some planets aligned. And it took forever. Definately helps to have connections!

but the thing is.. im 16 going on 17.. no job..

Im open to options if your sponsor needs more help

cadima 11.14.2008 11:21 PM

I figured you were from the name. Go get an engineering degree and you can do crap like this for a living. No hurry.

And I assure you nothing is for free. My "sponsors" used plenty of my time just the same. But who's counting anyway? Right.

These are CAD pics of my "X2" speed run car. I initially designed the whole car in CATIA V5 then did some tweaking in Solidworks. I started designing it in late 2005. There are a couple different iterations that the car went through before I started to fabricate.

I had initially designed it with a Lehner, then I switched to a Neu. My first design used a 1/8 scale type wheel connection then I switched to a 1/10 hub. I am still testing the X2 today.

Thanks Brushless! 89 mph as of last weekend. I keep blowing tires but I think I have solved the problem. I needed a lot more down force. Its front wheel drive. I found that I cant run the car rear wheel drive. Its impossible even with a gyro. This is what it looks like in its current form:

Here is a video of the 89 mph run:
