Yeah. I guess a lot of people have been asking Traxxas if the .4 difference between 14.4v and 14.8v was too much for the ESC. Initially, a Traxxas support employee told one person that 2s in series was fine to do, but some of the Traxxas engineers got on the boards and told the people that that information had been incorrect.

The only real test will be actually running the thing for oneself once they come out. I agree that 50mph might be a bit much for casual basher's in that scale. Hell, it's too much for some basher's in the Revos full size version, lol.

I'm going to personally shoot for longer run times. So a parallel hook up will be the most beneficial, with 3s giving the best of both worlds.

As far as wheels go, a lot of people are thinking proline 2.2 wheels and tires are the way to go for racing like on the Jammin CRT.5

I don't think too many people here are going to run the stock electronics...

There is no "perfect" setup for anything. There's no perfect setup for, say, a 10th scale revo. There won't be one for the 16th scale either. Someting along the lines of a 10th scale esc like a mm or 1/10th sidewinder, a Neu or Medusa motor, and nice lipos like flightpower 1600's will be a really nice setup, that's all I know.

Tell me about it. I've been running a nitro Revo 3.3 since November and have probably put more money into it than I'd care to admit. Was gonna go the full scale electric route till the mini Revo was announced.

I've sunk so much money into my electric Revo it outweighs the rest of my RC's combined. I started converting it well before the E-Revo came out (before the Revo 3.3 came out, in fact) and have gone through so many set ups and what not it's insane. I do have to say I've recouped a lot selling off the stuff from older setups.

But anyway, I did some searching for tire setups for our much anticipated little beasts, and here is what I came up with.

Stock Tires - 3.25 inches in diameter, 1.8 inches wide.
1/10 Truck Holeshots - 3.8 inches in diameter, 2.2 inches wide.
1/10 Buggy Holeshots - 3.2 inches in diameter, 1.8 inches wide (perfect blue groove track tire - what I'll be using).
1/10 Truck Gladiators - 4 inches in diameter, 2 inches wide.
1/10 Truck Bow Ties - 4 inches diameter, 2 inches wide.
1/10 Truck 30 Series Bow Ties - 3.9 inches diameter, 2.2 inches wide.
1/10 Buggy Bow Ties - 3.5 inches in diameter, 1.9 inches wide.
1/10 Buggy Dirt Hawgs - 3.5 inches diameter, 1.8 inches wide.
1/10 Truck Dirt Hawgs - 4 inches diameter, 2 inches wide.
1/10 Truck 30 Series Dirt Hawgs - 4.1 inches diameter, 2 inches wide.
1/10 Truck Badlands (30 series or standard 2.2) - 5 inches in diameter (too big).


The truck's wheel base is only 7.9 inches long, so if you used 5 inch tires you'd be left with less than 3 inches of space between the tires. I'd be willing to bet the tires can balloon enough to touch. :lol:

I think that going anything over about 3.5 inches in size is just too unreasonably large. I think 3.5 is already large as it is. So we pretty much have to stick to the buggy tires until companies come out with tires specifically sized to the truck.

I will personably be sticking with the stock talons for bashing and the 1/10 Buggy Holeshots for the track. I may pick up a set of 1/10 Buggy Dirt Hawgs if the talons prove to have poor traction, but if their anything like the full size talons, they have acceptable grip for bashing.

That's what i mean, I assumed there were crimes for the 1/10 buggy. I guess I'll have to try hotshots in front and bowties in the rear

I saw on the Traxxas forum that MaxCramps updated their site with 1/16th VXL packs. They are absolutely smoking crack with their prices!

The sad thing is those will sell better then good packs...

If everyone only knew the truth... A 12-20c pack that costs $50 isn't better then a 20-35c Flightpower pack that costs $30, even if maxamps tells you it is.

Those prices are like.... *HURL*.... a tad too high.

Well, the Losi lipos are up there too... What other lipos would the noob look at? Maybe this looks like their best option....

If only they know about flightpower. Even if they don't, a SMC pack looks ok.

75 bucks for a 1500 3s pack... 25 bucks a cell. Funny, I can get fp 5000 25c cells for less than 20...

I really cannot see any reason to buy expensive packs for this truck, something true rc or rhino would be perfect. Not enough load to stress packs hard, unless it is geared to the moon. I have some airthunder 2200 packs, got 2 2s packs for 60 bucks a while back. They should fit fine. 4400 mah should give me long runtimes!
