Gixxer is that the wing and mount that came with the buggy? It's not the one piece wing/mount that's in all the pictures of the 9e.

gixxer 05.09.2009 12:01 PM

no its a jconcepts wing. I didn't like the look of the one piece one. Plus I like yellow.

on the positive side. the kit came with crimefighters. Was expecting the junky tires shown in the ebay auction kits.

Good news on the crimefighters, I actually prefer Crimefighters with AKA foams over the AKA tires, for my track anyway. I also noticed on the Ofna site they are working on a Jammin X2e buggy.

what part # do you need to do the 2 piece wing setup instead of the stock wing?

I'm pretty peeved at the moment.
I mentioned before I broke the shock top, but it seems that finding spares is impossible in the UK. I ordered 86050 which was listed as the correct spare.

However, whilst it 'just' fits the shock, it won't fit the mount as the hole is too small. So I looked for the right spare part, and after about 20 minutes came up with another, different part number for the same parts. Eventually, I found on Nitro House's website the right part (under hop-ups), so I typed the part number into Google....

Zilch, nothing came up other than at NitroHouse. I also tried it without the OFN part to comply with the rest of the world, and still nothing. I'm going to have to use different shock mounts or something.

I'm not best pleased right now that, finding the part no. is difficult enough, then actually finding someone with the part in the same continent as me is completely impossible. I should be racing tomorrow, but I guess that's down the drain now.

Hey Marvin Did you check the HoBao hyper 9 for compatible parts ? ?

MetalMan 05.09.2009 10:33 PM

Nitrohouse and Ofna are located in the same building, in case you were wondering.

It does explain a lot. Only problem is that I don't want to be ordering the parts I need from the US everytime a need anything, as I will get stung on import duty (at 15% of the item's value + a surcharge) - which sucks.

Thats strange that the part number you got was listed. On the manual I downloaded, its 29109 in the Hyper 9E parts section. You probably already have the manual now, but if not, you may want to download it and compare to what you got.

So, anyone recommendations on what I should pickup for spares? Any opinions on the durability of the 1 piece wing setup?

Marvin 05.10.2009 09:03 AM

Yeah, it is 29109. But, I don't have the electric manual, not even those first couple of pages in the nitro one, only the nitro one, which originally came with different shocks. That part number is different.

The one-piece wing is fairly durable, but I have already got the standard type wing mount just in case. The back curved section has started to break off from the rest of the wing, so time will tell, though I am fairly rough on cars.

Cain 05.10.2009 09:09 AM

Do you want the link to download it? Its on ofnas manual section.

Looking at the prices, seems 12.71 is a popular number for parts for the Hyper 9/9e . Even the optional wing mount costs as much as the 1 piece wing setup.

Marvin 05.10.2009 09:12 AM

No, it's alright, that's where I actually found the right part number finally. The spares aren't all that sort of price in the UK (if you can find them); they are all different.

Cain 05.10.2009 09:15 AM

Cool. Thats good though that the wing is proving to be fairly durable.
