So back to the ten-t
Since im sick /i'll i have nothing to do:-P So i was google'ing around the web to find spur gears that fits the ten-t (without the STUPID unknown pitch) so found the Losi 8-ight spur. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...pur-Gear-8E-20
Can any one of you tell me if it fits or not? :) as far as i know the 8-ight 's use mod.1

BrianG 02.22.2010 03:45 PM

Well, as Mike has my truck at the moment, I sure can't say. That spur is for the 8ight-E, and I have no idea if it uses the same silly Mod0.9 pitch, which doesn't help when shopping for a pinion. I would much rather have a Mod1.0 or a 32p/Mod0.8 gear. A 32p/Mod0.8 setup would give you more gearing options since there are more teeth to work with. As far as I know, Mike is still working on a 32p setup.

Moller123456 ! 02.22.2010 03:57 PM

I found out that it is mod 1 :) So now the only thing left is: Does it fit:P...
since the tent (ten-t) doesnt have a gear cover i would go for mod 1 :) I used it on my brushless slayer, and i only destroyed 1 spur gear i about 2 months, and that doesnt have have a gear cover eighter. i know the difference between Mod 1 and 32p / mod 0.8 isnt big, but i have had alot of stones stuck in my 32P spur gears...
Soooo... Does anyone have a losi 8-ight E ?:D

That looks great!

Moller123456 ! 02.23.2010 07:59 AM

That does look good:D I was thinking that it would look soooo stupid, but Nope:P

Hmm, I wonder what 17mm adaptors he is using?

That Ten-T looks like a track killer!

As i wrote:
"After some "re-search" i found ot that HPI 17mm hex kit fits the tent (ten-t) # 86925
I havent tried it, but from the specs it should fit:)
I was hoping to use 2.2" wheels on it, but im pretty sure they wont fit:( unless you have about 50mm offset:-P" It was in post 67 ( i think:P)
But his adaptors do look different...

The wheel base is good for a short course body, with the stock tires it's too wide but with those tires it looks like it would work.

hootie7159 02.23.2010 01:04 PM

here's a link to what that guy did to get buggy wheels on his ten-t

FYI: Mike is making 17mm adaptors for this while he makes the conversion for me. I personally would not want to drill the stub axle to fit the 3mm pin since it could introduce a weak point, but might be ok as this isn't a heavy vehicle.

I have some AK truggy premount wheels/tires I want to try on this when I get it. They are a little narrower than typical truggy tires, but wider than buggy tires; somewhere in between. But because of the larger diameter, it will depend on what Mike comes up with for the gear system for how low I can gear down though. Buggy tires look sweet, but I wonder if truggy tires would simply be too big. We'll see...

Moller123456 ! 02.23.2010 01:17 PM

About the SC body. from the outside of the hex the the outside the other hex (measured in the front) its 280mm... and the proline SC bodies i checked they are 240mm -.-
im pretty sure i'll use HPI Hex the pin diameter is 2.5mm as the stock pins, and buggy tires and wheels:)
Those who are going to convert the ten-t: What Brushless are you going to use?:)

BrianG 02.23.2010 01:23 PM

Depending on what Mike charges for the conversion, I'll either go with a MMPro and Medusa 36-80-2000 on 4s (overkill I know, but I have these laying around), or get a Tekin RX8 system with Tekin 1900kv buggy motor. A neu 1509 would probably work VERY well in this truck as long as lighter packs are used to keep weight down.

Powerplant depends what you want to do with it though. Racers are gonna want something with reasonable speed (30-35mph), controllable torque, and good runtime. Pure bashers, like me, are gonna want something a little more aggressive.

Moller123456 ! 02.23.2010 01:30 PM

Sounds good:)
I have ordered:
3 x 4s 5000Mah 25C Flightmax Lipo's
KD36-60 3000Kv Brushless motor
150A Hobbyking Esc

Cancled the Xerun combo, as some of you prob. know i HATE waiting XD

FG101C 02.23.2010 04:14 PM

Because I have the gear and am not using it I plan on running a Neu 1509 3300kv with a MM on 3s. Should be good hopefully I can get it geared so it dosen't thermal the esc.
