We do need to take care of our country, because we have problems of our own. My truck was stolen a while back, my cars broken into 3 times, the houses in my neighborhood get broken into, while we are all at work, if you park your car along the main street in our neighborhood every Saturday someone breaks all the windows and steals everything inside, someone was robbed at our park at gunpoint, my brother was almost killed from someone robbing him at gunpoint. The funny part is I live in a nice neighborhood where this stuff doesnt happen as much. I believe the US has far greater problems than anyone will care to admit and if we cant fix them at home, what makes us think we can fix them everywhere else.

This is why I have a concealed carry pistol permit, and a few guns. I will not be the first to pull a gun but if I'm confronted by someone that pulls a gun on me you had better believe they will be looking down a barrel too, and although not first to pull I would be first to pull the trigger cause I'm not waiting for him to shoot me! The gov't isn't gonna protect my personal belongings and they can't be there to protect me all the time, if needed I can and will do it myself

Franky, the justice system in this country is a joke; criminals have more rights than law-abiding citizens, and jail is simply a vacation resort where scum just learn to become more hardened. I'm anxiously waiting for the day everyone gets fed up and starts some kind of vigilante club - when that happens, I'm there! Someone breaks into your house; shoot 'em dead. If they mess with your property; shoot 'em dead. Someone kidnaps and/or does unspeakable acts to someone in your family; shoot'em dead. Do that enough times and the scum of the earth will get the picture and move on to easier prey. But no, in this country, heaven forbid we hurt a criminal's feelings...

I like your way of thinking!

As for the whole civil lawsuit crap, if they are in your house they are fair game! Shoot to kill though, dead men don't tell stories, and make sure you don't shoot them in the back, that makes it look like they where trying to get away. If someone wants to sue me for shooting a burglar they can, cause at this point they ain't getting anything from me anyways, no house to lose.

After all that though I think this thread has went a little off topic as usual here at RC-M:lol:

Forget about the lawsuit business. If you shoot any person in your home and he is unarmed you stand a very good chance of being charged with murder or at least manslaughter. If they do not have a weapon of any kind they are not considered to be a threat to your life. This view has not made it into law in every state, but it has in quite a few already.

BrianG 03.19.2011 03:02 PM

What about snapping the guy's neck in unarmed hand to hand combat? I suppose that is considered excessive force or some such crap.

bigsteel 03.19.2011 03:52 PM

Shoot him in his legs until he turns back around...

PBO 03.19.2011 04:46 PM

In Aus you can't shoot people unless the self defense scenario is extreme & even then you'll spend half your life in court defending your actions

That said, I'd expect to get shot if I crawled through a window that wasn't mine...ergo, crawl through mine, you won't get shot but you'll get everything & anything else until I stop you. By then I doubt you'll be walking away

Bats

We have a few of those aluminum mini bats stashed around our home for any uninvited visitors. If anyone gets into our home they will be a celebrity home run king. No guns. I qualified as an expert with the 45, 9mil, and M16 while in the Navy. The wife also had to qualify for her Gov services, but with kids in our house we just never felt safe having a gun around. Honestly we just did not want to become one of those parents that ended up on the six oclock news because one of our kids got angry at us for punishing them and then shot us in our sleep. Kids can be so violent these days after playing murderous video games so much, and seeing things like Culumbine.

Just the other day our 14 year old posted a bunch of lies on facebook after I had to pin him to a wall to get his attention. After a bunch of our friends and family got online and saw what was posted we began receiving phone calls from around the world reporting to us what was posted. After receiving quite a few nasty comments from everyone he deleted the post, but kids tend to get so angry some times that they just can not control their temper. If we had a gun in the house I would easily believe that he would have tried to get his hands on it and shoot me. I have had friends growing up with guns at home. Two of then were shot by their own family members over a stupid arguement. One of them died. His wife got two years in a sanitarium claiming temorary insanity after shooting him 7 times with a 22 rifle. The kind you have to reload and cock the barrel for every shot. So no guns in our house.

Recent trivia info

Here is a bit of recent trivia information that pertains to the 9.0 quake of Japan.

According to NASA scientists the 9.0 Japanese quake in March 2011 shifted Japan 13 feet to the East (closer to the USA), and dropped or lowered Japan as much as two feet on the eastern shores of the island. This is why the tsunami waves were so devestating when they hit the eastern shores. The last four major quakes over the last few years have shortened the average day on Earth by approx one to two seconds, because each major quake shifts the Earth's axis and causes the Earth to spin faster. All of this was caused by the Pacific Oceans tectonic plate to move on top of the plate that supports Japans island forcing it downward. As this movement continues over the next centuries eventually Japan will be driven into the ocean killing anyone who lives there over that period of time. This is not a very good future for anyone living and building on the island of Japan.

REALLY??? I was not asking if you had heard this, so what is your point in posting that "this was said like 4 or 5 days ago", except that you are trying to be a smarta$$ and causing trouble once again?

As far as I know the details I just provided had not been posted in this thread, so I was merely sharing info regarding the Japan earthquake and tsunami with the others who have been discussing this here since the event happend last week, which is what this thread is all about, and why we have forums in the first place. Are you specially challenged in some way that makes you act like this, or is making smart remarks on others posts your way of trying to fit in? That is how they act on the TRX forum, maybe you should spend more time on there instead of being rude to people in here. How's that working for you?

Yea that is what I was thinking to. I would think that this info may hurt the long term real estate market in Japan. Of course we are talking a matter of two to three hundred year or longer down the road, but still it is surely something the people of Japan should consider for future generations. It sure would be great to see into the future to make sure that the decisions we are making now are the right ones. Is nuclear power really as safe as the current energy experts say that it is. There have been three very serious accidents in just the last 30 years that have had the ability to affect the human race as a whole and so far we have been pretty lucky. How far do we push things before it is too late? Just a thought.....

Jahay 03.22.2011 07:19 AM

There is no current alternative power for nuclear just yet... there is talks of fusion and breaking water molecules to release "mini suns" but that is still a little way off until the world is in dire problems....

I guess these nuclear plants being built around 30-40 years ago, didnt have the knowledge, technology and expereince we have now... I guess they were not ready to handle the forces thrown at them as they were never expereicned before. So what ever we conger up now... will definitely much better designed and should be safe... Till the next biggest natural disaster :-/
