I finally got around to running my MMM today. Before even using it, I pulled the fan because they seem to go bad anyways. Anyone think it's possible the fan going bad and the BEC chip going bad might be related? In any case, I put ~10mins onto my MMM with some HARSH street driving geared for ~45mph in my buggy. Temps were awesome!

Are you running the MMM in your new buggy MetalMan?

In one of the threads around here, I think Patrik actually said that the fan failure was in some instances causing BEC failures.

It is in my new buggy . Neu 1512 2.5D/F, 4s Lipo, geared 44/18 with 38/11 diffs.

So does this mean it would be better to disconnect the fan from the esc fan and wire it to the battery leads? Would this void the warranty?

I'm pretty sure wiring direct to the battery leads would give the fan too much voltage. It's likely getting 5.5v from the ESC vs 14v+ direct.

I'm actually running a Novak fan directly from my Rx pack. It would be good to get a cheap 6V BEC and use that to power the fan. In my TC3T, I tried something that I thought I would never do. I actually hooked my fan to the AUX channel on my rx and it works fine and no interference at all.
