Nice!
That looks like a really good performer. :yipi: |
FYI.
I did this a few months ago. It was on a hyper 7. Almost the same motor only 550 kv. Emaxx CVD's in the rear drilled out to 8mm, dog bone in the front. Shaved the motor shaft down a little (like and 1/8"). Offset the motor to one side to center the batteries. I the motor would get REALLY hot on 5s works perfect with a 4s. Just as fast as the gas guys. I never thermaled a mamba max on 4s with this setup. The buggy would wheely on pavement. Hope that helps. |
Looks good, I would move the motor back and get two custom made dog bones when you go 4wd. Glad to hear the mm is doing good, are you running 4s or 5s?
Another thing, axi makes a fan thingy (vein shaped fins) that draw air thru the motor. It bolts onto the end of the motor that spins. Sike has had great success with this lowering temps, and I have one for the redcat axi. Something like this, but bigger : http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXPRB0&P=7 Speaking of that, heres a pic of that old thing, I plan to put a mm in it and some bigger tires. 4s would be fine with the taller tires, I was runniing 5s with the shorter ones. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...p/DSCF1687.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...p/DSCF1688.jpg |
Mike makes a 72mm dogbone http://www.rc-monster.com/rcm.php?pg=2

Im running 5s, im ordering my parts today or tonite, i think i found a solution... the front center shaft for a warhead is just about the perfect size... :D
I could NOT get this thing to wheely, it would spin the tires at 35 if i gun it.. but the rear end does squat alot.. looks really awesome |
Rcmonkey, would you pay 50 bux for two dogbones?
that price is kinda steep |
Looks good BB! Now all you need is a front dogbone.
|
Im ordering the set for the warhead, according to the b4 dogbone (same length as the warhead's) i dont "need" to move the motor, with the motor up in the front the car handles awesome...the only thing i want is wheelies! that is the compromize...
Im hoping to pickup a new set of stock wheels and tires for like 10 bux. |

The warhead ones are pretty strong. I use them.

Hey guys just a little update.. With the raze being out of running condition, im taking the time to make a nice motor mount out of reall angle aluminum... the last one was some 1.5in flat stock bent over a jack stand.. Mind you the sole purpose of the maiden voyage was to wreck my Freind Josh's Nitro Rs4 ev0+.. I did. now to make the arrangements final. :P
I am also installing my spare Hs-311 servo... its a standard plastic geared servo but it works for what i need. I also orded the following this morning during Mech Drawing class  1. Raze center shaft set 2. Warhead center shaft set 3. C-hubs 4. Aluminum front knuckles 5. locknuts I finally snapped some good pics too, here you go without further ado http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/100_0966.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/100_0967.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/100_0968.jpg http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...0/100_0970.jpg |
hey guys, i just got in from the garage, i slid the motor shaft in some more so now i can put a drive cup on either side.. since the rc10 dogbone and the warhead dogbone are basically the same length this should turn out perfect, i the middle of the motor is DEAD centered on the 4 holes for the center diff, that is as far back as the motor can go. and the motor will be as low as possible too

The car weights 8lbs 4oz fully loaded with battery, i thought it would weigh more then that personally
|
Sounds like you got a good setup in the works. Not too bad of a weight either. Still wouldn't want to get hit by it at 48mph though....
|
oh i had my moments..... my steering servo decided to go nascar..... TURN LEFT!!!!! almost hit the neighborkids leg...
haha |
