What Neu are you running and what motor mount is that? I see you are using motor brakes as well? What do you think of the setup and what velocity are your oils.

Thanks!

Nice action shots. You should race towing the trailer so it is fair for the nitros.

Yeah was thinking of taking it took the track. Took it for speed runs out the front in the street and as soon as the trailer got a little sideways in would spin me around

1512 2.5D (2050KV) - Yes using motor brakes. Have the MMM set at 50% brakes with no drag brake (that is plenty of brakes) Oils? As in the diff? Currently 5/10/2

Well took it down to the track today. I changed the front shocks to a #55 piston. It was a very humid day, I was sweating pretty bad at the track. Motor temps were between 150F - 163F and the ESC & Battery was 112F. Not many pics this time. 1st picture is just my son watching me fly around the track making sure the buggy is running right (soon to be pit crew). I took the video camera down aswell but went to record and realised that the battery was flat.

what gearing are you running now?
I have the same setup geared 13-48 and my motor runs about 170-180 after 15 minutes.
and my 4s 5000 pack hit voltage cut right at 15 minutes.I'm thinking it's undergeared.
with the same setup on 5s temps are the same but runtime is about 20 minutes

Yeah, my temps went down after going lower gearing, changing the timing on the ESC to 0 and putting thicker diff fluid in.

kevin23 09.16.2008 10:16 AM

so what gearing are you currently running?

13T/46T - I was first running 14T/46T which was also before I changed the diff fluids and timing and the motor was running 160F - 175F but the ESC and Battery were cool which usually means the motor is undergeared so I went up to a 15T and temps didn't really change (I think it got hotter quicker). So asked around and changed my diff fluids from 3-5-2 to 5-10-3 and timing for D wind motors is mean't to be 0 not 15 or whatever the standard timing is on the Mamba ESC. I also changed the pinion to a 13T and temps went right down. I haven'y tried the 14T or 15T pinion again as even on 13T (42mph ish) it is still fast :intello:

thanks,what I needed.
I have been running 13-48 on 5s,this weekend I tried 4s with same gearing and was slower on straight, but runtime went down and motor temps stayed the same

good info

DRIFT_BUGGY 09.19.2008 03:22 PM

Well had to happen sooner or later. Playing around in the backyard, came in to check the temps and notice the fan not working. Had a good look in and saw that 3 of the blades on the fan had snapped off. MMM still runs though and I have a spare Novak fan sitting in the cupboard. Just got to decide what to do - Send it back to CC or just put the Novak fan in

kevin23 09.19.2008 09:57 PM

that sucks,my mmm broke the fan plug off of the board already.

DRIFT_BUGGY 09.20.2008 06:23 AM

Took the cover off tonight and removed the blades. Fan still works and MMM still work fine. Thinking about trying the MMM without the ext. bec and see what happens

Just finished up my e-8ight using the tekno conversion.. WOW awesome! I've got the MM esc w/ fan and ccBEC (4s config). Gearing is stock spur (48) and 16t on the e-clutch. No temp issues and she runs great! Motor is the Medusa v2 2000kv 60mm.

7,10,3 for diff fluids
50wt w/ Green on front shocks
35wt w/ Black on rear shocks

She runs great and I was owning the nitro's today!
