I had the same issue with 2 of my MM's awhile back. Solved it by disabling the on/off switch all together and bought my first set of TRX plugs to replace the deans. I am very happy in doing so. They have more contact area, more confortable, more grip, no heatshrink...

I suggest you sell the MM while it is still alive and invest in a MMM- you won't regret it.

Nah, I want to see if I can get this thing to work. Not just going to take the easy way out this time.

it is your connectors, i told you that already, silly:rofl:

Yeah, yeah..... I just hope the new connectors fix the problem so it wont happen again for however long the MM is around before it gets fried from by my motor.

How did you completely disable the on/off switch? Just solder the wires together like I did?

traxxasbasher13 01.13.2009 07:43 PM

I think he might have made the wires super short then soldered them together.

_paralyzed_ 01.13.2009 07:45 PM

^^^yeah, you can solder the wires together like you did, or put enough solder on the board to jump the gap between the two wires solder points. Either will "permanently disable" your on/off switch.

Takedown 01.13.2009 08:57 PM

I unsoldered the switch and wires from the board and jumped the two joints on the board together with a small peice of solder. Was very easy to do.

Should be getting my EC5's in today! I will get some pics when they are all soldered up.

traxxasbasher13 01.15.2009 11:04 AM

Cool I want to see them.

Krawlin 01.18.2009 12:08 PM

Haven't gotten the new connectors soldered up yet, the Maxx build is sort of on hold for now while I work on my truggy.

Krawlin 02.13.2009 08:14 PM

Well I got the connectors (EC5's) soldered up, ran the Maxx, and it worked for about 2 minutes, then pulled its off and on crap again, then the motor destroyed my spur gear....

So a couple hours ago, I ordered the MMM.

Took some pics of the Maxx, edited them in photobucket, turned them into teaser shots -

(Edited the pics so they dont encourage more comments like 'Neils...)

Hmm, hopefully it wont make too much mess when it does...

What do you think?

traxxasbasher13 03.03.2009 11:54 PM

That thing is sweet, but really 17lbs, thats kinda ridiculous. How much does that cage thing weigh alone?

AP Alex 03.04.2009 09:12 AM

The way I weighted it probably was not real accurate, but it was the only way I could weight it. I weighed then I weighed holding the truck. The cage is not heavy, but i just think it is the combination of all the aluminum parts including the rims and tires.
